Hey! Here's a recent response to a similar question:

I appreciate everyone's patience and understanding that making a game that is meant to be of the highest quality in its genre takes time.

Also, I realize that most of you would like to see more frequent updates. I wish I could post them more frequently. It's not always possible, at least not in the way that would make them fun to read. The reason for irregular updates is that some periods are simply focused on prototyping new features, coding, testing, iteration, as well as re-doing things that are less than "bloody awesome." Normally, studios wouldn't redo mechanics that are "good enough" because it doesn't make sense from the business perspective. We approach it differently and prioritize quality above all else. I'm not saying we don't care about business and your wallets specifically - we do. However, the project wasn't started with the financial goal in mind; it's not why it was started - the very first thing I posted on Steam when BHH was announced was that we're trying to make the most ambitious first-person simulation game in existence. Whether we succeed or not remains to be seen, but that's the mission behind BHH: make a game that's going to make a real impact in this genre. And to make that happen, we sometimes need to spend extra time on things that are "good enough" but could be made "bloody awesome." There's a fine line here between pointless perfectionism and the reasonable pursuit of excellence - I believe we're in the latter category.

In other words, not every stretch of time translates into an engaging update - only visually appealing updates tend to be interesting to read, which is understandable. Rest assured, however, that progress towards the finish line is being made every day.

As for the release date question - there's a lot of biz dev stuff happening behind the scenes at the moment that will affect the development timeline and the launch window (Early Access or v1.0 release) - I predict it won't be long before we'll be able announce the release window though - I'll notify you as soon as I can.

In the meantime, keep an eye out for the upcoming Halloween update. It's a BIG one and there will be some cool things to see.

Honestly Today 10-31-2024 Would of been the perfect day for Early Release Access
