Red Faction II
Red Faction II 8mb VRAM error fix.
This error plauges 64bit Windows and new gfx cards. Someone made a fix and posted it on the Steam forums but the link is dead. I later found it with a lot of searching the web and decided to put up a link here for anyone who needs it.

Just run the program and point it to rf2.exe which is somewhere in tha labarynth that is your steam folder.

Worked great! Thanks.
its not giving me the option to run it. it just says save file or cancel. wat do? =(
also, its not letting me save it anywhere
Thanks fot that men, but now I have another problem, my screen is entirely black, what can I do to fix it ?
Well, it does work, but seems to override any in game video settings chosen. SO, it only plays in 1024x768 and I'm not sure what graphical settings it utilizes.
Still not working. Not even the Hex Editor fix seems to do anything.

Edit: It's the same fix btw... memory fix in forums doesn't help either

I honestly just want to play this game and idk how to do all that stuff with hex editor and such is there any other way? or should i just contact steam and get my money back because this is a bit ridiculous.
Didn't any of the fixes on here work for you?
Sincere thanks, my retrogaming weekend is saved :)
Worked great, thanks OP
Finally feel that Red Faction 2 is not a waste of space and money on Steam. Thanks OP.
Ok, is it just me, or does this game not work in 1920x1080? I have it set to 1920x1080 in the setup menu, and verified that it is set that way in the .ini file, but when the game starts, I get the steam overlay pop-up in a position that where it would be in a 4:3-ratio resolution. Then, it appears to "widen" when the menu comes up, but the resolution looks substantially lower than it should, in the 1024x768-ish realm. I had the "black screen issue", and used the replacement .exe file from Gamefront to fix it... so I am guessing that, though the game supports 1920x1080, due to the "missing Video RAM" glitch, and the need to use a hacked .exe, this means I am stuck with a locked, lower resolution? Any ideas on if there's a way to get the game working on a 64-bit Win-7 machine in true 1920x1080?
