buy on steam -> option 1: runs horrible then refund and buy on ps5. -> option 2: it runs well, keep it.

Probably stick on PC first and see how it runs. As Kintaro mentioned, if it runs like poop or you just don't like the game, you have that refund window.

If you buy on PS5 and run into the same issues, you will not be able to refund as Sony doesn't allow refunds except for rare circumstances like the CP2077 release. Also, PS5 will be running at 30fps, uncapped, as there is no "performance" or "quality" modes. Now maybe at launch the game will run at a locked 30, but that's your call.

this. I have a 2060 super, very close to what he has with the same CPU even.
ANd even were I to match the 30 FPS limit of the PS5, my game would look better than on PS5.
Luckily, it will look better with more frames so I won't need to lol.

If you think a dev team that can only get to 30 fps on a console is going to do a good job porting it to PC, i got some bad news for you.

That's not really a gotcha because the ps5 is almost at the end of it's lifecycle and was outdated when it came out.

PC because A) I just upgraded it and B) I don't have a PS5. I was considering Xbox before I got the upgrade, but now I want to give it a good test.

Also in general just prefer PC gaming because of mods or tweaks I can make.

Thats an L take because Spiderman 2 came out in October 2023 and that can hit 60FPS on performance mode

Spiderman 2 also runs at a lower internal resolution and is pretty empty. So again, kinda proving the point.

More confirmation of lazy dev, if they can run DD at 4K, why not stick in a performance mode like Spiderman?

Spiderman 2 is defiantly not empty, it has a whole city to render wit people, lights and traffic. DD has to render trees and some mountains.
