K. But why does maxing out everything first week matter?
Ima just play this game at an enjoyable pace like the one before it. Eventually. your pawn will be max.
Just wait therell be guides to having some meta build for the pawn that everyone will hire. Just matter of time.
Not...necessarily. Having pawns 25+ lvls below your main had some kind of benefit if i remember correctly. I think that gave you maximum xp or something in DD1
On-topic:
It's going to be hard to crack the top 100/200 rankings, especially the top ones once they're 'established'. Just like part 1, popularity becomes self-fulfilling and the cycle can't be stopped. Like a fusion reactor sun in Spiderman 2 film.
Which naturally leads to people making popular pawns as quickly as possible. Ergo. . . trainers, cheats, mods, then uploading them to the server. They don't have to adjust pawn numbers directly if the server can detect anomalies, just blast through the game with 1-hit kills and super-speed etc. Collecting the right loot, and upgrading it to max to give to their pawn.
The server will have all-time rankings and, like part 1, there will also be popular 'this month' rankings too.
You can join pawn sharing clubs for "scratch-my-back-I'll-scratch-yours" on reddit. Why reddit? because someone there manages their own database/spreadsheet to keep track of rents and you can see what the pawn's details are (inclinations, vocation, boons they have etc). Other forums will have threads like gamefaqs but probably won't have a database.
A lot of people drop out of the pawn sharing clubs because they realize their pawns are always changing as they play through the game. Secondly they don't really know what they're doing, but still have to update the database on every change. It's no longer fun once they realize they can't just name drop their pawn and leave it like that. They have to update the database that their pawn is no longer a mage but a warrior experimenting and low in vocation points with a lot of the skills still to be unlocked etc. Not worth the hassle.
It's best to join pawn sharing clubs like on reddit once you've 'finalized' your pawn. Not really a good idea joining starting out and learning the game. You're not gonna be running to reddit and saying "ok my pawn is a crappy warrior now with none of the top skills learnt". . . 5 minutes later, "ok my pawn is now exprimenting with sorcerer". Get outta here.
You would get more XPs from combat with lower level pawns.
I used to get some good ones that worked well for me and keep them for quite a while. They usually carried their weight.
Exception with BBI though. Especially the deeper levels.
So you'll just have to get lucky with people who don't have friends playing this game. I don't seem to have any who played the first. Also, I see people on those forums getting max level pawns, which I'm assuming makes most of the game extremely easy. That part doesn't sound fun to me.
The first one most people didn't release how much your pawn's inclinations mattered for getting your pawn rented. I just replayed it and so many pawns had bad inclinations. Hopefully that won't be an issue for the second game.
The game actually lets you grab pawns that are higher level than you to recruit but the game uses a currency system and it will be very expensive to get someone who is end game levels.
I will hire your pawn!
