spearhand looks fun as well though so it is what it is
Ya they did merge some of the skills and what looks like some of the gear from the first one over to fighter.
Technically you can still get a mystic knight gameplay, like assassin, with the warfarer by mixing weapons (shield + staff + spear for a mystic knight, bow + shield + dagger for assassin).
While it's not perfect, it's still not that bad and it will offer other combinations (like greatsword + shield + bow or incense + shield + staff or magic bow + spear + archstaff).
Until we get the game we can't really assess the real power of warfarer.
Devs knew, that's why they broke it down. It was either OP to the point that all other vocations were meaningless for people that knew how to use it (I know once I got the gist of it I never switched back to another vocation again, there was no point of it), or useless for people that didn't.
