It definitely gives a "niche job" vibe where you can tell people that enjoy it will have fun with it, but I find it to be really boring. I've been with it for about 50 hours, understand how to "optimize" it, but I don't find myself having fun. I've read more steam threads and youtube videos during this play through than any other. I've even considered rushing to the end of this NG just to switch vocations.
I don't think there's any shame in not enjoying the same thing as others. Not everything is for everyone.
1) you put down your bait and run away (before the combat starts) and Sweeping Shroud to start the combat
2) Aromatic Rally your group
3) use the weapon you get from sphinx to farm gold
5) enjoy the calamity your sorcerers bring to this world (they will sync up their meteor)
After playing 160 hrs. I found this combat style so refreshing.
Trickster has too many requirements to do anything, and can't do anything without anyone else. Has many tricks, but doesn't do any of 'em well, unless you're in the perfect situation, it's only good for videos, like tik tok videos showing the best of the best, while the rest of their lives is utter misery and depression.
Good on paper, but clunky execution by fishing for the perfect execution.
At least has good outfits.
Still better than Warrior and Sorcerer though
not a bad class, just not ideal for solo quests.
But for me being a cheer leader while my pawns did all the work got boring for me so after maxing it I just stopped using it
The team buff did come back into use for a little while when I was working on getting wayfairer leveled up.
Anyone got some actual numbers on that?
That doesn't help the overall design though, that's just suffocating shroud but more tedious. None of the other skills are so good that anyone would ever be like "You know, these other skills are so good it's worth dropping suffocating shroud and manually applying incense with smacks or the charge up spin." Suffocating shroud is just too good, especially since taking any hits makes your simulacrum dispel, so even using the ranged attack is too slow when you're facing tons of enemies (which is 99.9% of all combat encounters)
if you expect it to be something engaging you'll be sorely disappointed.
