Can't advance in A Candle in the Storm, don't have the option to commence the plan.

Oh you're at the last step.
Did you talk to Menella in the hideout that you want to commence with the plan? Did you choose before hand that you want to support or oppose the empress's proposal(plan)?
After that you will be left alone with Nadinia, and you will hear someone outside calling for you to open the door, then go back inside.

Dunno if there are actual preparation requirements that you need to meet.

Or just go rest and try again in daytime, commencing with the plan will skip time ahead anyway.

I picked the option to support the empress.

When talking to Menella, she didn't ask you that you're ready and want to commence with the plan? After the Nadinia choice, Menella should give you 2 choices. Not yet or ready.

I slept a night and Menella still won't advance the mission.

What do you mean by advance?
Do you not get the choice? Or you do get a choice, but nothing happens? Are the 3 npcs still there, in the hut with ya?

I'm getting the suspicion that Irmhild is dead in your game or something, thus nothing happens. She is normally found in the side chambers before the Empress chamber.

One of the servant NPCs is dead because I accidentally struck Menella.

Revive her, or if that doesn't work, good luck in new game+.
I will have to live with missing out on the Phantom Oxcart, Hugo dying, all the Coral Snakes disappearing, except for 1, and Sphinx getting to live another day, because her human parts were offended by damage aka making unmaking arrow useless when using it in the wrong spot.

You dont need to use the unmaking arrow. Just fight her normally, shes really not that hard. The only thing you need to worry about is your pawns not getting the memo.

I didn't ask how to fight her. Also this ain't my topic.
I can just use the unmaking arrow the next time, because the game doesn't save when you use the unmaking arrow that doesn't kill the enemy, I could reload the save, but that time she just flew away, so in ng+, she's just gonna get speared in the ass.

Go help the topic creator instead.
