BUG - somehow sold the Godsbane. Main Quest broken

Somehow my girlfriend sold the Godsbane. It won't be shown at the shop from the copy-guy. I've tried to replicate it from my game, to send it over, but that doesn't work either.

Now she isn't able to get through the mainstory.

Any advice?

wait a week in game with inn resting then check the scrap shop in Checkpoint Town. He has a special option in his choices that recover quest items.
Although I haven't seen anyone lose this one yet, it will likely be there.

I dont think you can actually softlock yourself with the godsbane. You can technically go around the spellseal door, you can backtrack through the sunken ruin, and you can start NG+ without the sword. Maybe Im missing something?

Depends on where you are in the quest. You do need the unpowered version to give to Ambrosious, which would solve your pseudo soft lock problem anyways, but if you have done that already and lost it you NORMALLY would need the empowered version to go through the spellseal door, BUT you can trigger both halves of the cutscene without it.

All you need to do is head to the door within battahl to get the first scene. Then you have to go through drabnirs grotto to get to the volcano from the other side and to head to the encampment there. Next you have to go out the north entrance of the encampment and head north past the bridge section and towards the spellseal door from the volcano side. Once you get far enough up the path, the second half should unlock for you regardless of having the sword.


Mind you this is all theoretical.

She needs the unempowered version. I think you need the empowered version to take the lift for the last fight.

Update:
She just started a new game. But maybe someone will have the same issue and get's a solution out of this thread.
