Main Pawn "punished for playing the game"
Kinda sucks that if you are enjoying the game and keep playing that your Main Pawn will keep leveling and by doing so lowers the chance of them ever being hired again.

Granted I don't know how long this takes but they are already level 63 and unless it starts to slow down to a crawl at some point they will become un-hireable.

They are end game kitted out with augments, weapon skills and rings to compliment their tank purpose. I do also set up pawn rewards for 5 All heal Elixers.

At what level will hiring become and issue?

If people continue to play on a regular basis, they should be leveling up with you. My pawn and I are level 70 and more people have hired her than ever before I noticed.

Worth mentioning that putting up quests has a decent chance of getting hired, like the typical 10k gold

I heard All Elixers or Eternal Wakestones are better at higher levels. Gold becomes redundant

wakestones become redundant at end game, everything drops them and can be stolen from + chests etc.
allheal elixers might be the best but no one really realizes how good allheals are so you have a catch 22.

There's less people at higher level, and by extension also less pawns. So if you have a good pawn it will stand out more than at lower levels and it might even get hired more often, that's what's happening to mine.

It is worth noting that you can look up and down in level to find pawns, so "technically" anyone can hire your pawn no matter what, but they have to have the effort to search beyond their default level range.

Granted hiring higher level mobs comes at a cost....so not really a viable solution.

The other solution for getting your pawn hired is to go offline and get the game to hire your pawn and finish the badge quests. I'm not sure if you NEED to go offline for it to happen, but there is a sympathy hire system that ensures people's pawns get hired. I had it happen a few times when I forgot I turned off network connectivity.

Not completely sure how the system works but it is out there.

Other people are playing the game too. So there well be other people playing at level 10, 30, 50, etc. The main difference is that people will be more selective as they learn the games systems and what type of pawns they want and when.

I never hire a pawn without a pawn quest. Over time, there will be less people hiring simply as the player base goes down. However, Capcom always gives some pity hires every few hours of gameplay, regardless. (you do not need to be offline for this. You'll know if the report is a set of pity recruitments because the player profiles are not available.)

Why does not getting hired bother you? It does not give you a tangible or meaningful reward that you can use in any way. It's just a tap on the shoulder that you've helped someone. That's it.

If it really bothers you, feel free to start a new game and forfeit your main pawn, so it stops leveling for the rest of the game.

I like to help players in games where I can and making a pawn that's got for all purposes a "perfect build" and knowing how useful they are is nice.

Yeah I enjoy the reward of knowing my pawn is useful, if that bothers you, you didn't have to say anything.

Oh is it normal to send Eternal Wakestones? I dumped them on the ground when I got them because I thought it was suspicious and didn't understand why someone would be sending it to me randomly xD

Yeah, something that ended up being a solution for me, but was accidental, was to level another account and hire my main pawn. I did that to have two custom pawns I can customize in a party, but it works for badge progression and other things too. Now I have two level 80 pawns, and I don't mind if my main pawn gets hired by someone again or not.

Buy the game on 2 steam accounts.....why?

It doesn't bother me, but I want to understand the mentality behind it.

There's thousands of other helpful pawns at low level. It doesn't sound very altruistic if you are bothered by having to compete with those in order to help others. To explain; in many ways, you would displace other pawns in the pool, just so it can be you that "helped" them instead of the vastly many more people, where as people on your level would in theory not get to access your pawn in their small pawn pool, which in turn means your intentions can't be altruistic, but rather self serving. It is illogical and paradoxical if you would argue that you're just altruistic. I'd rather have someone just be honest and say that it feeds their endless greed or narcissism when they see their pawn getting hired while others do not. There's also the whole idea of beginners having no idea what "meta" is and what isn't, so you'll more likely ruin their game, just like it always happens when you start a new game and your friends give you all the best gear.

Anyway, if you're so set on it: start a new game. It takes 2 minutes to learn the meta skills and augments for the respective vocation for your pawn. Or 30 minutes if you also want the best gear for your pawn until the true ending. You start the game as a thief, make tarred arrows on the way to the outpost after the griffin in the prologue dies, then trade the tarred arrows for rings of endeavor with pawns, then go take shadow cloak, brine your pawn, go through the waterfall cave which skips the escort quest, get thrown into prison in vernworth, go activate the portcrystal, run to the sphinx area and either dupe the portcrystal from the previous riddle or from the griffin nest, then smuggle yourself across the border in checkpoint rest town by waiting for the special cart, get out of the cart after the gate and get thrown into prison to end up instantly in the second main city, put down the portcrystal and run all the way south, then through the tunnel to get out at the excavation camp, put down the second portcrystal, buy all the gear for your pawn, resummon your pawn and equip it, rest, forfeit pawn again, done. Enjoy your meta pawn with BiS gear at level 1-10. Then set your moniker to SphinxParent and your pawn quest to trade 1x tarred arrow for one of your rings of endeavor, which you've previously gotten from pawn trading and you're done. I'm sure it's not going to suck all the fun out of the game for the poor person who hires it on an already way too easy game.

I'm assuming two things here. Far fewer players the higher level you get, and likely keeping more stable teams for longer and not switching pawns as fast as when you are low level.

But if you have a good sized friends list with people who don't buy games as soon as they come out, I figure late game pawns will be used there. I have a few on my friends list with this game on their wish list. Of course, that's also assuming they want a high level pawn when they do play...
