The default graphics are better in places - but overall, DD1 was and remains more fun, and better designed. Some of the new monsters aren't bad either - but it doesn't make up for what's lost.
DD1 had better replay value (hard mode, etc), better exploration and things to explore, better augments (by far), better skills, better overall classes, better DLC (free on Steam at least), better price, better endgame, better story.
I've not seen real disagreement for that with any substance. Just folks happy with what remains of the formula in 2. I just find having a weaker game as a sequel to be a waste.
DDAA>DD2>DD1.
DD1 was extremely forgetable on its first version.
DD2 has a huge improvement on a lot of things, but lack others. Its also a different type of ARPG, it does things diff than DD1-
I have seen a lot of disagreement, and a lot of people coming from the last version of DD, especially the one from pc, which is normal, we are in steam.
let's be honest your opinion is wrong.
That said, they really, REALLY dropped the ball on the endgame portion. Unmoored world is barely even in the same ballpark as DD1's endgame world and Everfall. The fight with Grigori was also much better in DD1, it felt like an actual endgame boss with multiple phases. Bitterblack Isle was icing on a tremendous cake too.
But in spite of all of that, the moment-to-moment gameplay in DD2 is still more enjoyable for me compared to DD1.
I disagree, i do think DD at release was better than DD2 at release, yes DD was a bit less fun without the DLC but we got a lot to do plus the everfall who were infinit if you don't want to finish it. Like pawn inclination / knowledge who are very bad on DD2 or non-existant. DD on release was poorly optimized if i remember correctly and the game was very nich i mean.
compairing DD2 with DDDA is a bit unfair, although... The price in my opinion would actually make reason if it the content of dd2 were similar to ddda.
70 for a game on pc
Me and my friends have always something new to tell about our pawns, its actually quite amazing.
If we only talk about base DD, i do still think the everfall is better than the unmoored world
I sold 3 friends on the base game back on PS3, and so we got to experience DA together. Back then, all you needed to say was "Dude - there is this sick-ass RPG that lets you climb up a Cyclops and stab him in the eye!".
Game just wasn't for everybody.
Oh they said that? That's a bit scary for the future of the game tbh
Thanks you opened my eyes after you said that
