Classes / Vocations Disappointment
Assuming all the available classes are what's listed on the website, I am beyond disappointed. I recall at one point hearing there were going to be MORE classes, but instead we got the same amount as the first game only less impressive. I only play Paladin classes in RPG games and though the Mystic Knight was meh at best, at least it was semi-close to what a Paladin offers. Now we get some lame spear wielding clown?

The archer and thief could arguably be put in the same class together, so we're getting less classes.

During the first game I don't recall anyone actually playing as Warrior (except for stat and passive gains) because how slow and basic it was, yet some how that class has been injected into the second game?

So with how absolutely disappointing the class line up is I can't even imagine paying their $70 price tag.

I'm hoping I'm wrong about the only classes in game are what's listed but I don't think that's the case. I'll probably just end up removing it from the wishlist and hoping a DLC down the road introduces a class worth playing.

Warrior wasn't played much because it wasn't well balanced, it's obviously not going to be a 1 on 1 port which you would be aware of if you were paying attention to the marketing.

I personally believe there more coming at least 4 more the 2 base vocations for trickster and green and yellow advanced vocations

I haven't been boarding their hype train marketing because there has been little to motivate me in doing so. I'd be willing to bet though that the warrior will still be the least played class just as it was in the first game, but I digress.

The game drops in a month but you think they're still withholding classes? Interesting.

By that logic we should have no classes at all because no matter what there is always going to one that isn't as played as others.

Someone has to be bottom of the pile and I wouldn't be surprised if it's trickster considering how passive it is even tho it is neat conceptually.

Especially as alot of people seem very excited to have a decent Warrior class finally.

That's great, but the point of this post wasn't to debate what class is going to be least played. I only mentioned warrior being low on the popularity charts to highlight the fact that of all the classes from the OG game bringing back warrior seems ridiculous. There are better, more fun, and more popular classes, but they chose the most basic and boring classes to bring into the second game.
There's more now than there was in DDDA. It looks more likely now that there will be more vocations than are currently known. Agree on the mystic spearhand part. Always looked like it would have fit way better as the green/blue not red blue, even then I find it unimpressive.

Okay, there is one more class than the original had, and like I said, thief and archer could literally be the same class. 9 classes in the OG and 10 classes listed on the website. If there are more coming then awesome! But considering the game is releasing in a month I'm skeptical.

The more fantastical theories of 18+ vocations are definitely not happening. Now that warfarer was announced it seems very likely that at least a few are unannounced. I am starting to think that they won't be following their color scheme though.

Yeah I never expected that many but I definitely expected more than what we currently have and I absolutely expected at the very least a return of ALL the OG classes. It's weird to me that they would be holding out on releasing any more considering the release date. You'd think they'd want as much info as possible out right now to boost the possibility of their preorder sales.

Well, as one of those warrior players, i sure hope they can still use other weapon types than dumb old swords. At least spear is still a lot better than dumb old sword. Only weapon worse than a dumb old sword is a ridiculous toy sword like katana.

Anyway, it's all about how the vocations play, so i hope they still do demos. You might think the past guarantees it, but it really doesn't, especially if the idiot in charge continues the unhinged crusade against mods which might give reason for the deranged to see ghosts in giving customers a first free look. The demented generally don't think clearly. I suppose we'll see about that.
I'm of the belief that all games should be released with a demo so people know what they're getting. But I know that will never happen as many companies heavily on creating fantastic trailers and "gameplay" videos in order to "get that sale" and trick people into buying what they otherwise may not had they been able to try the game first.

The original Dragon's Dogma did the same. They didn't show all the vocations, I mean the whole point is that you unlock and learn about these vocations, It is a different day and age now and people want to know everything about the game before they play but that can be a double edged sword.

Yeah, I prefer to know what's available for me to play first. Guess I'll just have to wait for people to unlock stuff and see after it releases, if that's the case.

I heard the Magick Archer is now more of a support class. I guess that means no more knocking Death around like a basketball. Bummer.
