It is annoying that not all class have proper defensive options, but I think that is intentional design.

Classes in this game are supposed to have clear weakness, that is supposed to be covered by the Pawns of different class.

You are not supposed to have jack of all trade character that can do it all on your own.

Relying on AI is always going to be clunky experience, but I can see where the design philosophy is coming from. It's a design that sounds better in concept than actual implementation, but overall I think pawns do decent enough jobs to make that concept into reality just enough to see the merits.

My enemies could benefit by having a dodge, cause I'm a monster. :masterworks:

Yea... I so hate pawns have hard time handling flying targets or some part time immortal stuff like Phantom or harpies. Like same problem was in Dragon dogma 1 metal golems as if you did not carry proper tools your pawns we´re to dump attack flying plate what kept immortal golem alive.

I love idea of system but darn it has issues at times. I don´t want this be replaced with multiplayer. At best if possible give orders attack this or something.

Hmm, I don’t think the AI is clunky. But I maybe used to dump AI after 1k hour. I don’t play damage dealer in this game, so my only source for killing enemies are my pawns. The only thing which gives me sometimes a headache is a golem but all in all I think they are pretty good.

Of course a player will be always better in these things but honestly I don’t like multiplayer, so I will always prefer a dump AI to a player. I had too many bad experiences with multiplayer games, and I can’t demand that my other half always play with me. They have other games which they want to play.

Topic: I think thief had a dodge mechanic, have you already tried that one?

Of course a player will be always effective in these things but honestly I don’t like multiplayer, so I will always prefer a dump AI to a player. If not mistaken also Wayfarer if using daggers. Correct me if i´m wrong. Presuming as i don´t really play this vocation and only noticed he inheritances core skills depending weapons and unlocks origins vocation.. Again i could be mistaken.

Warfarer is a class that uses all skills of all other classes. It doesn't have any unique skill, but it is combination of all the skills of all other classes except for the master skill.

...by playing in a GROUP of 4 team-mates... using the pawns.

The pawns will get better, the more they kill monstes. If they earn the golden batch, they have all the information needed to be very effective. This nees quite some kills, however.

Warfarer has the abilties tied to the weaponj it uses. E. g. it gets the vocation-skils for the weapon the pure vocation uses normally. So, to have the dodge as warfarer, you need to wield daggers. (you don't need to use active-dagger-skills, however, just be ablet to equipe a dagger. The warfare has a special skil to change equipped weapons instantly and can equip upt to 9.)

All that said, i even think, the non-lock-on mechanic works much better than the lock on of ER... Especially with KB/M.

Honestly pretty sad how the average gamer is mentally stuck in a cage. Enslaved for years and doesn't bother to understand or experiment with the tools they're given. Instead of taking time out to learn they just vent their frustrations and wish for the chains to be made ever tighter because the slack gives them anxiety.
Randomly sprinting to the side = dodge

Though I'm actually tired of seeing people rolling around on the ground in games. Realistic dodging needs to be a standard. No ones gonna roll IRL.

Because in some games, rolling is faster than sprinting. Even better... jump up a bit, then roll... even faster/further :)

You know certain movies where the gamer nerd is suddenly just the right guy we need to save the world because of his skillz... I want to see folks bunny jumping in RL or rolling into a machine gun burst.

That said, in DD2, you win by making your enemies dodge (spoiler - they mostly can't). Also the pawns don't get better... they get FUNNIER (which IMHO is far better). "That's right Byerly, DEATHLY SHOT that wooden crate, might be something in it"
