when will a "full game with everything" version come out?
2026? 2027?
I had a great time with the dark arisen on PC version. I want something similar.

Imp to note though that there's no guarantee they'll do one; the game did better than they expected and they've talked about it becoming a "major brand" but that might mean going straight to another installment for all we know. Whatever makes a better return I guess.

Great. Excited for inevitable full game edition.
any way, seems like I'll have a better time if I play this in a year or two, and then we'll know for sure

I wouldn't be so optimistic without anything confirmed.

They announce big expansion well in advance, so we'll know if they have anything planned far from release. Elden Ring's Erdtree was officially announced over a year before it was actually released.

Elden Ring was made by from soft, Dragon's Dogma by Capcom, how 1 company handles things doesn't mean that's how they all do.

both companies won't shadow-drop an expansion that had a lot of money spent on it.

The bigger, the louder the announcement, they'll make sure people know about and it solves the problem of whiners and people washing their hands thinking 'this is it' with nothing else to come. With Itsuno gone and nothing announced, it probably is 'it'. ☠️

Who said anything about Shadow dropping, it took them ages to announce DD2 even if it was an open secret that it was in dev. Why would they act differently for the DLC?

And Itsuno wasn't involve in Dark Arisen, which is arguably the best part of DD1.
He's not needed for something DD related to be made.

Capcom also said that Dragon's Dogma was now one of their main franchise, so there's still hope that something comes down the line.

The best narrative and lore additions made where all made and directed by Kento Kinoshita who did all of Dragon's Dogma Online which is by far the best story in the franchise.
They co-directed DD2 and with the direction the story of DD2 took I think I am not far off the hook when I say this is a prequel to the MMO.
There are clear signs everywhere in the game so I do think that big beefy expansion is simply a matter of 'when' not 'if'.

And how much time between announcement and release? Your rebuttal doesn't make sense to what I wrote.

Dragon's Dogma 2 was announced by Capcom in June 2022, released on March 22, 2024. 1 year 9 months before it actually came out. They announce both games and content before release. So we'll know well in advance if any new content is coming, like a year out. The bigger the content the louder the announcement will be. See Elden Ring's Erdtree which was announced over a year before it was released.

Are you trying to convince me that DLC is coming based on Dogma 2 might have been guessed to be in development before officially announced?

Hmm. I'm gonna need more than that. An entire game might be harder to hide.

All very nice, but Capcom were still on good terms with Itsuno when DA was made. With Itsuno gone, Capcom are more likely to shelve the game for a long time rather than trying to still add to it out of Japanese company hubris. Especially when he was the front-man, giving us his 'vision', front-and-center answering questions etc.

It's been a year out already. The anniversary has come and gone with just some token mention. I don't know about you, but that seems to veer heaviy that no new content of any significance is coming as DLC. Having high hopium when the best argument is "trust me bro" just seems weird in light of the current outlook. I don't understand where all this confidence is coming from.

Yeah, people totally forget that most of the time a person is needed which pushes for some games and the chance is big that big publishers just abandon these games as soon this person left. If I remember correctly there are more as one game which this happens. People maybe don’t like Itsuno’s *version* but without him there would be no Dragons Dogma 2.

Of course there is still Kento and I hope he and his team gets all the resources which they need to create again a DLC which people love but as long Capcom doesn’t announce something official, I would say be caution with all rumors about a DLC.

You can argue all you want, but i'm gonna point you to how they did it with Dark Arisen.
It was revealed at TGS 2012(Sept 2012) released April 2013.
That's 7 months.
Them not announcing anything yet is not the end of the road.

That's quite exciting to hear, I've mostly heard people complain about the game (I personally think it's awesome) so it's nice to have some hope that the series will continue

As much as I'd love this DD hasn't been getting a tab in most of the Capcom markets. During the Capcom Steam Golden Week sale DD doesn't have a category despite being on their featured tab. On their official Capcom storefront on Amazon(USA version) you have to search for DD stuff since they don't get a tab like RE, MH, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, or Mega Man despite those tabs not showing all the products for those franchises, just like "featured" stuff, so product quantity isn't the reason for that.
Could just be looking too deep into things, could just be too much work on the web design front, but from my perspective it seems like they're happy it earned so much money but might not be ready to put it in on a pedestal with their big boy franchises. Actions speak louder than words and so far I ain't seeing a lot of action to back up what they said.

(Also fun fact apparently they still sell the Dragon's Dogma Online edition for the PS4 for some reason. And the physical copies are weirdly so much cheaper for DD2 for consoles, I don't know why)

Ok, what's your point? Thing gets announced months in advance before it's actually released. So you're agreeing with me?

All you're saying is DLC is coming by pointing to timelines. Sounds like you're skipping the middle-man somewhere here like an actual announcement or leak. Something your example contains. Here, there is no evidence DLC is coming.

You mean the signs of an unfinished game? Like references to underground gateways? Like 2 dwarves in the entire world? Like Daimon on a loading screen? Like hydra bow with no hydra?
