Is performance still bad?
Want to buy this once I get my hands on a new GPU. Don't want to turn on the crutches like DLSS or FG though unless I'm going for Ultra preset.
Post your setups and frames but no upscalers pls. I just want to see honest FPS this game can provide as is.

Performance now is very good. Even on release on my mid PC, I got problems only in towns.
Now after smth. like 13 patches it is very good, even in big cities.

You're saying "mid pc". What are your specs? Do you play with DLSS/FSR or without?
as with all capcom games, optimization is the after issue. Not gonna get fixed ever, knowing them.

Intel Core I5-12400 2.5GHZ, 3070TI, 32gb ram.
DLSS super resolution OFF
DLSS frame geneeration OFF
DLSS Nvidia reflex low latency OFF

All settings on High, except few.

I mean I'm not super experienced in all that tech. stuff. And I call my PC mid because there is 5090 out there. And currently I can't afford to play on Ultra or all High settings in not even recent games. I don't want to mislead you.

I see. Thanks for the details. Not all hope is lost then.

Its way better than it was, but its definitely not what I would call "fixed". I would hope if they did an exapansion they would take that opportunity to overhaul how the game handles things, it is way too CPU dependent, turning down graphics actually seems to have little effect because of this. Seems the same problem has happened with Monster Hunter Wilds now aswell.

The limitation is still the CPU.

You can (and many do) have the best GPU available, and still get 35fps in the city. Graphics settings don't matter, since it's CPU bound.

But have a 7800x3d or better, and it'll run sort of OK-ish. The problem is they 'fixed' it by making it so only a small area gets loaded at once, so pretty nasty pop-in happens - and lots of folks are still getting quite poor FPS.

It wasn't a good fix in any case.

Keep in mind, complex 3d towns with NPCs on schedules on daily paths have existed since 1992 (Ultima Underworld), so none of this should be anywhere near this poorly coded.

This game just isn't worth properly fixing. That's the real problem.

This is a lie.

With a 9950x3d you will get 120 fps in cities with a 4090 or 160 with a 5090, without DLSS of any kind.

But you literally list the most powerful CPU + GPU in the world

I'm gonna upgrade but I'm still not a rich kid, you know.

Cool story bro. Gotta video of that with a reliable frame counter?

I'm sure I could even manufacture that too, if I killed all the NPCs in the main city, or stuck to a corner of the place, or just chose to interpret which 'city' I was talking creatively, and was playing with the truth a bit for lulz.

So, I'm not even at all accusing you of being a liar - but motivated reasoning is a powerful, fascinating thing.

You're always calling folks liars for disagreeing with you. I don't tend to do that, and will presume you're telling some form of truth - but I will ask you to back up your truth as meaningful if you want to be claiming that extraordinary claim.

Otherwise, I'll just assume you're playing around with folks like you do. No big deal.

There is an entire stack of x3d chips with accorded performance thereof, same for the gpus.

Research is ever thy friend and ally.

Can't say i've had any issues running DD2? 9900K/32GB/3080 12GB. "Maxed" settings @ 3440x1440 and it runs fine, limited FPS to 60 (my screen does support VRR/Nvidia thing).

It runs great tbh, only some NPC popin sometimes.
