Playable on the PC?
Quick question for those that are playing. Is this game even playable on the pc? (I'm talking about a solid 60 frame cap and nothing below 30)

Must I buy this on the console instead? There's a sale and I'd like to act fast before my time runs out.

{Edit} My Specs are i7-9700K @3.60Hz 8 Cores Nvida RTX 3060

I think the performance is stellar, but I also run a 4090 fwiw. I should think a 3080 or 4080 could probably pull 60fps with DLSS: Quality in use.

It's OK-ish outside of the main town.

There, CPU performance bottlenecks mean that you'll need one of the newer X3d chips or equivalent to run at around 60fps.

Outside of that, most of the game can be run at 45-60fps on most 3060-equivalent or above systems

That does mean that by modern standards, this game performs rather poorly currently on most systems on Steam.

I'd recommend waiting until the Denuvo DRM is removed - as a bonus, it should be on much deeper discount by then.

I've had a 2070 and haven't had problems with connection/fps, but I also didn't have problems before when others were so I don't really know what I have that's different compared to them.

More than playable. I played at launch with a r9 5900x and 3080ti @ 1440p and got 90 almost everywhere in the open world, no frame gen.. only had issues in the city, like everyone else did.

Alright thank you so much for guys response. I'll get it on the console then.
Oh - make no mistake - it performs worse on consoles.

But since the standard there is 30fps, with all kinds of forced blurring, folks there don't see it as a flaw.

We know it doesn't have to be that bad, so see the implementation as they've made it as substandard to an odd degree.

I bought it on the sale, I'm not sure what was going on but my game crashed over 5 times in the tutorial. It was running at a smooth 60FPS but it just kept crashing, I ended up refunding it because no matter what I tried I couldn't fix it.

My specs:
CPU: i5-12400F
GPU: AMD Radeon 6650 XT
16 GB RAM

If anyone has an idea of why it was crashing and if it's fixable on my end please reply.

I have never had an issue running this game on my rig with frames on the GPU side. As stated earlier it is CPU stuttering from the engine that is an issue; too many entities in an area doing stuff and even a computer that can do orbital launch calculations in real time in the background while you are gaming will bog down. I have a 140ish hours clocked in AMD stats and an avg of 114 frames. Their measurement is whack though.

If you do not have a NASA computer one way to probably *theoretical since I do not have a big problem running the game* cut down on the drag is to kill alot of the NPCs in the major cities. Should cut down the routines/calls needed since the game simulates so much at the same time.

I read posts like this and slightly scratch my head at what people are reading. But then remember, yeah, it's probably these forums...

Assuming it's a serious question, yes. Is it the best optimised game in the world, probably not. Is it much different to other stuff I play, no. Is it playable? Ofc.

Beyond that, it's going depends on what system you have, what settings you're expecting to play on and how much junk you have on your pc.

Best advice, just buy it, play it for 2 hrs and see. If it doesn't work for you refund it. if it does...

It all depends on your specs. For me this game is totally playable with stable 60 fps on highest setting with native resolution. I would not waste over 1k hour on a game which would run with crashes and bad fps.

Generally speaking: It always helps a lot if you post your specs so people with similar specs can share their experience with this game. As an example: If you have a 1080 and I have a 4080(The same goes for different RAM and CPU) you will get a different experience as me.

The game runs fine on console, for more data: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObMC_gVkd18&ab_channel=DigitalFoundry <- 01.12.2024 so this should be actual for PS5 pro (if you have a pro).

I first played this with RTX 2060 super and yeah, had to pull all settings to minimum and still lagged in the main city, but managed to get 50-60fps outside.
Now i got a new high end rig and still have some performance dip in city, but otherwise running on max with +60fps.
game is a year old an it feels like a beta:carto_bear:
