Windows 11 24H2. It doesn't work. | Asus Rog Ally X
My Asus ROG Ally X was updated to the latest version of Windows. When I try to run a game, the play button turns green, but after that, nothing happens. The game doesn’t launch or start at all, making it completely unplayable. I’m starting to think that DENUVO is entirely incompatible with version 24H2. It’s crazy to see such severe issues and a total lack of compatibility caused by DRM.

Have you tried to open the game by the icon inside Dragons Dogma 2 folder on steam? Try do it with admnistrator privilege and see what happens.

Thank you for responding and trying to offer a solution. The thing is, I've given it administrator rights, it shows 'running,' and from there it does absolutely nothing. I've even tried repairing it, but the game is dead, it does nothing at all. Other games like Atomic Heart have worked for me, and it has DENUVO.

Your comment on this thread, before updating the game worked. Update to version 24H2 and let me know how your experience is. You should leave the thread, people like you, apart from spreading hate, contribute nothing else to the community.

Now I don't know ♥♥♥♥ about handhelds but OS's are pretty simple. First off I doubt DENUVO is doing anything to hinder your game. You said everything stopped after the update?

Well you got 2 choices. Attempt to fix this installed update by a possible restart of your "handheld" you'd be surprised how a restart sometimes can fix alot. If you have restarted it. and the game still won't run. Maybe try a system restore to revert your device before the update.

Updates are usually good but beware MS knows how to kill their own OS with bad updates. Been there way too many times.

The operating system is complete; it's the same one you use on your desktop PC. I also use an eGPU 4060 to play as if it were a desktop PC. Obviously, it's a Windows issue, but of course, we can't stay on an old version of Windows forever, right? We'll have to update at some point, and you'll see this problem will become normal... Well, I'm not in a hurry, I'll wait and see what happens. Downgrading the OS doesn't make much sense.

Thanks for replying anyway.

Downgrade and wait til a new version is released.

I bought my PC back in 2018. It was top of the market at the time. It was only win10 compatible cause win11 didn't exist yet.

I keep this PC updated on all fronts at all times, Video card, virus scanner, EVERYTHING. including windows update.

I took my win10 to win 11. Everything worked fine for month even years.

Microsoft released an update in win11 that messed up the compatibility. My PC went FUBAR. it was down for over a month and the hard drive was blank.

I had to start from scratch by reinstalling win 10.

Today my PC operates like it's brand new.

The moral of a my story is.... Just because there's an update released doesn't mean it's worth it.

If I was in your shoes I'd be looking at this objectively. If it was working perfectly before the update then perhaps the issue IS the update.....

Your choice try it or not. I don't care But I leave you with the help I provided. Now have a good day.

Updating is a nightmare for the gaming industry.

Since Microsoft is doing horribly with their Xbox market, they don’t care that PC gamers are having all sorts of issues because they refuse to release an OS that's exclusive for gamers, removing all the office stuff and bloatware from their system.

But that’s a whole different topic. Thanks for getting back to me! I’m pretty sure it’s Windows’ fault, but since devs sell their products under Windows, they have to take on the responsibility of updating their games. Remember, their upcoming games will be based on 24H2. Whenever they release a new game, it’s always on the latest version. So, I guess I’ll just wait.

You know that have those c++ there on the pic doesn't means its working as it should right? If any there are damaged becouse pirate games, mods etc deleted, then you could suffer this kind of problem on another games. I strongly recommend that you reinstall your c++ and retry to launch the game, im sure you are suffering c++ corrupted problem .
Also dont forget to add permision on your antivirus to DD2, Windows defender is known for block game launchs, this is why i never use it and i always chose my own antivirus.
