I've purchased 2 full priced games over 2 Steam accounts. Over 1000 hours in the game.
Uh, ... healing potions work just fine.
You can listen to this 'hoovsbin' guy. He knows what he's talking about, although he only has around 120 hours in-game.
I played it once as usual, hiring 2 rando-pawns to have a party of 4. Next game was just my Main Pawn and I. Then I played a game where I hired my Main Pawn from my second Steam account to have a party of 3, all my creations. Next game - party of 4, all my creations.
The combat and exploration is the real draw.
Something that many critics don't understand, is that this game is like Monster Hunter World where reaching the end of the story is NOT the point of the game.
MHW and DD2 are both exploration and collection games.
The plot is simply there to move you along to new zones where you collect new stuff and fight new beasts.
This is not Skyrim or Baldur's Gate 3 or any such RPG.
So with that in mind, IF!!! you like Monster Hunter World, you should like this game.
If you're not sure, then best not to purchase.
Good luck and cheers.
What holds me back are the Monster Hunter comparisons... I'm not a huge fan of hunting beasts, for the most part—unless they're the human or at least humanoid kind. The Witcher had just the right mix for me in that regard.
The style of game is like MHW. Not the mobs. Best you check out YouTube to get an idea of the mobs. The mobs are divers in design. Not all humanoid.
Have you tried Baldur's Gate 3?
I have, and I love it—even though I succumbed to Third Act exhaustion for the time being.
I don't think we're allowed to say that kinda stuff here, but if you search a site called IsThereAnyDeal, you'll find it.
