But if you're looking for horny cutscenes you might want to go back to Baldur's Gate.
I think the clear implication was that there were only two romance questlines and both were female.
Also the fact that both of these are just the endings to quests probably makes it kind of awkward if you aren't interested in romancing them and just wanted to do the quests.
Otherwise, the end credits call the people who have highest affinity your "dearest friends", so it's a bit more ambiguous with everyone else.
The quests you are referring to, are literally quests to get to know them better / build affinity which leads to the culmination of a relationship
Why would you bother spending time getting to know them better if you didn't want a relationship with them??
The relationships in this game are meaningless useless. Think of Relationships in this game as "Junk Mail" in your email, it's just the same crap mailed to you over, and over again, especially since they're mostly basic items you can find out in the wild, or just buy. Only instead of clicking "Select All", and hitting "Delete", you simply only have to accept 3 items at a time when you go to rest.
Wilhelmina's quest only triggers after her affinity is high enough because she "trusts" you. The quest-line's all about Uncovering corruption and secret murders. We get the bonus of finding out about her past. I would've been satisfied with just getting to know her. Didn't need the extra bit at the end for me personally.
Ulrika's line is all about Rebuilding towns attacked by the dragon, dealing with corrupt government officials, and a small bit of racism sprinkled in None of which necessarily needed her involvement. I'd rather have simply deepened the friendship we'd been building.
Affinity doesn't have to equal smooches. Friendship should be a viable path. Not everyone wants to have those experiences with the characters, but they still want to have the good outcomes for their questlines.
Well i agree that the quest should have a - 'let's be friends' and a 'i love you too' option at the end
I thought it was better when RPGs had a mix of characters you could romance. Some characters were straight, some were simply uninterested in you as a love interest, and some were bi. Dragon Age Origins did a pretty good job with this, and made me replay the game as a different character just to see the different outcomes.
obviously
