My Beloved....

Damn it, it never fails. In DD1 my beloved was always an inn keeper or some merchant dude....the dragon trolling me again this game with the merchant in vernworth that sold fairystones.....he missing and not dead...I can only assume this is because I'm on the last quest on my second playthrough....bromance time!

I got Brant because a random dragon landed into vernworth and killed him out of all people, and flew away. After I revived him he wouldn't stop blushing.

At least you don't have to watch a romantic scene with a random npc after fighting a dragon. I was afraid of it all the time because my greatest fan in Vernworth was a little girl whom I helped with a medicine.
Luckily, the dragon took the right npc, Glyndwr.

If it isn't my creepy stalker Ulrika, I'll be shocked. She's shown up at my door in Vernworth four ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ times already!

I did almost all of the quests, revived people after two dragon plagues, did most of the escorts.

Whenever I dropped by Harve I remembered to give a flower or something to Ulrika.

And I had Ulrika as beloved.

Are you guys doing it on purpose or what, it is not so hard to get the NPC you want. I don't know the exact rules compared to DD1, but I'm pretty sure Ulrika wasn't the last person I interacted with/maxed affinity with.

Creepy stalking is apparently part of the culture since I've been getting that with any npc I have a high affinity with. I end up using an inn so I wouldn't have to deal with that, and I'm not spending hundreds of thousands on a new home. "Baby it's cold outside" should play on the romantic side quests.

That is what happens when devs with little experience in romance try adding romance features

I never finished 100% ulrika's quest, never gave her anything, nor talked to her outside of quests. I still got her even after 20+ hours of not interacting with her and showering other NPCs with flowers.

I gifted rings and ♥♥♥♥ to both Ulrica and that elf girl idk her name. But I got elf magic archer milf even though I never interacted with her beyond initial quest.

Technically they're your "dearest friend" this time around, not your "beloved." The devs ditched the romantic connotations entirely for DD2.
