End Game is Fantastic
Finding the combat, vibe & crafted world of DD2 totally enthralling... Like the first installment it'll be another imperfect cult classic. The environments & visuals are second to none, with the warrior combat being unmatched in anything else I've played. Get a good team of pawns and things just meld into a fantastic ride. TBH i'm enjoying end game the most, maybe it's more mayhem than usual, so I only hope the dev team gets to let lose and forge on.

Sure many of the quest aren't very inspiring, that I'll admit. Honestly, however nothing else comes close. In comparison I don't get much if anything from the Soul's series.. I just hope that Capcom keeps this series alive & builds on it, without dumbing things down any more to appease the masses.

For DLC I just want an overhaul of the quests with more creature types and move sets.. Just go wild.

Anyways... I'm just feeling this gem, faults and all.

There is no end game.

DD1 had an end game in the form of the Everfall.
DD1 had a second endgame in the form of the UR Dragon.

DD: Dark Arisen Had a 3rd endgame in the form of BBI.

DD2: Has no endgame at all.

While I agree on most points and love the game overall, even with its many flaws, where is this "Endgame" you're talking about? If you mean the unmoored world, it's a cakewalk with no challenge.
And it can't be considered an end game because it is finite as well. Either you beat it, and it ends, you don't beat it, and nothing respawns, or you reset too many times and it ends anyway.

I remember base DD had at least 2 endgame features: Everfall & UR Dragon. Dark Arisen added Bitter Black Isle. Some people hated Everfall, but I actually enjoyed it. The random loot kept players exploring. Bitter Black Isle had a random loot system too.

I was extremely disappointed with DD2 endgame. There wasn't really a final boss and all the gear you could find weren't really better than the things you can buy from the Dragonforged. Grigori was fleshed out more in DD. The fight with him was better too, and he seemed more cunning and menacing.

Environments and visuals second to none? lmao you don't have the slightest clue what you are talking about. You don't know anything about video games if you honestly believe that.

He is right:

-Best enviroment and visuals
-Enviroment and visuals second to best enviroment and visuals
...
-Environments and visuals second to none (DD2)
-none

Except he's dead wrong. It's not even a contest. Dragon's Dogma 2 doesn't even come close to the best games. Not even close at all. Maybe in your delusional world, but not in reality.

He is dead right, its second to none. Although to be fair elven village and thief village look great.

There is no end game.

The graphics look like a 2015 game.

Unmoored would be considered an endgame regardless of your opinions on its difficulty.

It's at the end of the game and the world exists in a different state. Sure its timed, but that doesn't exclude it from being "end game"

Yes, it does. End game, in regards to video games, refers to the stuff at the end of the game that keeps you playing long term.

For some games the end game is multiplayer. For some it is repeatable farms. For some it is raids or super bosses. But the one thing they all have in common is it is something that adds significant playtime after you beat the main game. This game has now of that. I cleared the unmoored world in one sitting then it booted me back to the main menu.

You could at least mention the 'games' you referring to?

DD2 is great fun. Played it several times on XBox, tried all kinds of combos and vocations over the two platforms. (Saving my PC playthrough for a tricky idea I had.)

I have over 250 hours on XBox. Chars at L86, 40, 31, 30, trying things out. One complete game as Trickster which is way more OP than folk think. Magick Archer... had to stop playing it. Trivialises the game as much as it did in DDDA. No need to fight in dungeons if you just Ricochet a few times and collect the loot.

Amazing how many people hang around to just slag the game off isn't it? What do they get out of it?

Just from my playtime on this game, I'd give it GOTY. Best VFM since Skyrim, for me. Haters gonna hate....
