Maister Skills question

Do I need to have the required rank to use the scroll?

Or can I be a vocation level 5 assassin, use the scroll, and when I hit 8-9 the maister skills will be available?

Might be a stupid questions but this game has me TERRIFIED of making this type of mistakes.

They are immediately available at a vocation guild or even a campfire since you don't even need to spend DCP for them

Assassin? Is this for the first game or did you mean thief (Not being rude, just want to make sure info I give is for this game)

Once you get a Maister scroll you can use it right away, the skill becomes "learned" for your character. You can use/equip the skill starting at Vocation level 1, given that you've unlocked the vocation of course (for the player and your main pawn)

You just need to have bought the vocation with dcp, no need to rank it up or actively use it to learn the skill for yourself and your pawn. You get it at rank 1.
You can't learn the skill if you haven't bought the vocation.

Because the thief guild guys told me they werent sure if I'd be able to capitalize the skill, I assumed I needed more rank vocation to learn (I was 7).

And yeah, I meant thief.
