Already less players than Cyberpunk 2077
How come a game with multiplayer features, released less than a month ago manages to have less concurrent players than a singleplayer game Cyberpunk 2077?

Cyberpunk had to go through years of misery to get to where it is now.

It's also a far more marketable and popular title.

Who cares. Either enjoy it or don't.

hey, it's the daily "the playercount is _____!" thread.

Meanwhile - many people are waiting for The Performance Patch(tm). The rest are slowly finishing the game and going on to play something else. And potential new players are. . . waiting for The Performance Patch.

So, yeah. Steadily decreasing player count makes logical sense. I see the mountain-making machine hasn't run out of molehills quite yet.

WTF?
Annoying things like this is a turnoff.
Inn prices.....thats enough to make many want to quit.
What level are you?

I've seen people say that the only reason why BG 3 and ER have bigger playercount is because the multiplayer features in these games are more expansive than the ones in DD2.
Cyberpunk has zero multiplayer features whatsoever and it still beats DD2 despite being a much older game.

Player created pawns aren't disappearing just because people aren't playing anymore. They will still be available and I doubt you have hired them all already.

Cyberpunk was a much more anticipated game and had massive hype around it after the success of The Witcher 3 and it has sold 25 million copies, not to mention that the success of the anime Cyberpunk Edgerunners made a lot of people pick up the game. They've also had years to polish the game and fix many of the issues it had and make it much better than it was at launch. It has about 10,000 available mods and got an expansion last September. Why are you surprised at all?

Why so much cope and playing all these mental gymnastics to beat around the obvious fact.

Cyberpunk, and all the other actually good games out there, ♥♥♥♥ all over Dragon's Dogma 2. Especially if you've played DD1 already and so the novelty of the combat mechanics isn't there, this game is dog quality ♥♥♥♥. If you can't appreciate how bad this game is and how scummy Crapcom is for the video game industry, you are part of the problem.

Cyberpunk was amazing day 1, actually. Even with the bugs it had, they still ♥♥♥♥ all over Crapcom and this overpriced garbage title. 90% of the release drama was because they tried to release the game on PS4, which was a huge mistake.

There's a LOT more replayability in Cyberpunk. Its also a completely different genre; Cyberpunk is a sci-fi first person shooter with rpg elements, whereas Dragons Dogma 2 is a high fantasy action rpg. The inherent interest is better retained in the former as opposed to the latter.

Games like Baldurs Gate 3 and Skyrim are exceptions to the rule.

Bro there are more people playing chess than Dragon's Dogma 2. Chess came out like 1400 years ago, lmao.

It’s a SP game, why do you care? A better question is, why do people treat everything like it’s their favourite sports team? Politics, entertainment, games… are you so enveloped in the social media collective you don’t know what to think unless your smartphone tells you? Speaking of pawns, do you enjoy being one for government and big business?

DD2 has issues, but it's not a terrible game. It seems like OP is just jumping on the hate bandwagon. I've seen "reviews" of this game that were just blatant lies such as claiming players edit their Arisen and Main Pawn only by using real money.

As for those comparing DD2 to BG3 and FO4, it seems those games can be modded far easier than this game. For example, modders can add new items that aren't replacers for existing items. i'm not sure if this is possible for DD2. Mods like this contribute largely to why players continue playing the game years after its initial release.

This game has issues, man. Still disheartened that this is the final product we get to a beloved cult classic.

If it helps any the pawns don't really ever leave the system, just like the first game. If a player stops playing their pawns still exist pretty much until the servers die.
Going by the first game which servers are still alive after a lot of years I think everyone playing will have lots of pawns to choose from forever at this point at every level range.

i remember before the announcement capcom developing DD2 in a past, that numbers of DDDA concurrent players were around 500 max in weekend. i don't know how many newcomers would stay here DD2 though.

DDDA wasn't just a few years old. Dark Arisen released in 2012. It is 2024. That is 12 years difference. DA having 500 players on Steam after more than a decade is actually pretty impressive, and no one expected DD2 to keep people playing for a decade+. However, asking for it to retain players for AT LEAST a few months is not a big ask.

That's pretty good considering most of us played Dragon's Dogma on Xbox 360 and the Playstation. The PC port for Dark Arisen came really late.
