Do you have to do ALL of Brant's quests?

I'm just trying to race to the end of the game.

I did a big run around and dropped portcrystals everywhere I thought I might need 'em. Trying to just progress to the confrontation with the dragon, but I seem to be gated by these little tasks that Brant is trickle-feeding me.

Not all of them as far as im aware, only until he offers the quest of the Coronation.

Which continues the story, havent tested it though, since i do all the quests.

Yeah all, his quest is the main quest until the Coronation. Except his escort quest. Also some of side quest is part of main quest for the true ending only, which the game didn't tell us.

I did the true ending, I think.
The only thing I neglected to do was the sit in the stupid chair. ;)
So I get to run through NG+ to fight the dragon again and then become Sovran.

Well, you can sit first to get the good ending, then reload the game to get the true ending. Technically that's the order, but in your case the other way around xD
Still works, just longer :)
