Did they fix the major CPU bottleneck issue?
or is optimization still jank??

my game is not cpu bottlenecked on my setup, i get 99% gpu at all times. the settings you use mean everything. the lower the settings go and dlss will make this game cpu bottleneck. it just depends on your pc.

it still even after the first patch drop, was atleast expecting performance same as elden ring at lowest.
Space Cowboy Apr 10, 2024 @ 8:13pm
Just as jank as it was on launch in terms of optimization.

Honestly the last patch they did idk why made the game run even worse. I think it's caused by dlss tho cuz I'm seeing some strange texture blurring and popping when the fps randomly goes to hell. In terms of bugs tho idk what they did but the derping out is even more frequent than usual 3 griffins randomly drowned themselves today lol.

1st patch seemed to make it a little better, but not perfect. 2nd patch made it worse than launch.

still jank unfortunately

Could you elaborate on the settings please?
I have a 4090 and I’m sure I don’t get 99 percent gpu usage, certainly not in the city, maybe in the outside but I haven’t been able to play recently so can’t remember full benchmark details when I was playing with rivatuner but I remember the usage dropping dramatically when entering vernworth

4070ti here. I was running nivdia recommended settings only turning motion blurr off and that helped on the first patch but not this patch.

Interesting to see the gpu usage at 99 percent in the city I’ll have to fire it up when I get chance and see if that still the case for me.

In terms of performance, I get a higher average in fps in the city even in native 4k it’s 60s/70s but does sometimes stutter to mid 40s it just depends on what you’re doing in the city as I could get you a screen grab of fps in 80s in the city but then you move around and it fluctuates… a hell of a lot!

When you mentioned it’s all about settings could you elaborate on this please? So you think if you play max over mixing the settings around you’ll see a more consistent usage in your gpu?

Ryzen 5 7600X
RX 7800XT
32gb ram 6000MT/s
nvme m.2 / SSD's
Windows 10
monitor 1440p / 165hz

I just want to know if I can play the game with decent quality settings and a decent framerate. I can tolerate some dips in spots here and there. seems to only happen in the cities from what i've seen, which I presume is non combat. my main concern is performance tanking during fighting, out of the city.

the 1% lows do go into the 40s but average stays around 60 even when walking around, EVEN when going from checkpoint town to vernworth after having to fight an ogre.
some ppl will say that pic came from the old patch- well this is the latest patch.
and not even after initially loading in. with streaming in the background and various things things going on in my pc.

you can see in the graph while walking around the fps is all over the place, but the % doesn't change much when moving around, maybe a maximum of 5% difference. still not relly cpu bottle necked. and yes that is exactly what i am saying.
NegativeZero Apr 10, 2024 @ 9:13pm
The game still runs like garbage. It's highly unlikely Crapcom will ever fix it. They already got their money. That's all they care about.

your cpu seems to estimate at about 14% slower than mine, you will see dips past mine and maybe even a lower gpu usage. but it should be playable. and fighting outside city isn't at all cpu bound in any way shape or form, its all about the cities.
