gift of the bow quest

I changed my vocation to an archer and gave that guy a bow ,, and met him in the woods but he just says hes ready for the tournament, does he go back to town , the safe arbor ? just went there but haven't looked around yet. his quest just seemed to stop in the woods

After hitting one of the targets and speaking to him again the quest completes. You can meet him in the city again for a follow up quest something like a day after finishing the gift of the bow.

he will eventually show up back in Vern. He will accost you I think when he is ready to go to the next stage, which is to meet him at a spot to enter the Elven City. It takes a few rested days if I remeber correctly. This will trigger a real quest when he is ready.
