Vernworth Dragon

Ok, so I have had a minotaur attack vernworth before and goblin attack a few times. Last night I came back to Vernworth after getting Trickster because I wanted to farm up its first couple of augments. I stayed the night at my house and when I went to leave there is a whole damn dragon sitting there where the other attacks usually occur. I am level 25 at this point and I think I can pull off killing it but I am worried about it murdering NPC's during the battle. Anyone know what exact NPCs might be in the line of fire there? Not trying to have a mini-dragonplague level event here.

Also:
What do you look for in a mage pawn around this level? She got hired nonstop in earlier levels but now it has become rare.

Anyone else have a genuinely murderous monster show up in a capitol city like this?

Had the same situation with drake on level 40. Fought him about two minutes then he flew away. Did not kill any NPC in Vernworth. Btw, even if it happens during battle with monsters, you still can go to the local graveyard and resurrect them using special stone.

Don't know much about a mage pawn though.
