FYI included in Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, was the Eternal Ferrystone.
I believe it was in storage when you purchased the DLC. You could also buy one at a very high cost.

So the eternal Ferrystone is actually lore. It should be available.
There is a mod that makes this item available. I think I may start using it as CapCom excluded a lore item.
What's your thoughts? Cheating? even if it's lore?

Limited ferrystones are just bad design. Just use the mod.

Strictly speaking it is cheating but realistically, who cares. If you feel like using it, go for it.

I think DD2 is the most cheated in game of recent years based on discussion posts so it's not like you are putting a black stain on the "community's honor" or anything. Also, infinite ferrystone isn't even that bad of a cheat, you still have to set up the portcrystals.

I was sitting on 30+ ferrystones at the end of a play through, and I was using them every any time I wanted to go back to town, I would buy another from vendor at that town and while I was out I also looted some, so I was never pressed for ferrystones.

Kind of a user issue, but yah use a mod if you like, no biggie.

The rampant cheating is a sign of a potentially large modding community around the game. It always starts with cheats, then you end up with new lands with new monsters.

Not quite right. In the original version of Dragon's Dogma, there was no eternal ferrystone. This was added when Dark Arisen was released for all owners of the original version because they had to buy the entire game again. It was then added by default in the later PC, PS4 and Switch versions.
It is therefore not part of the lore but was always purely a player service.

What does that mean and who cares?

It was a very deliberate design decision. And just like Itsuno can design something deliberately to take more time, I can mod my game deliberately to take less.

That said, Ferrystone or no Ferrystone is the least of this game's issues.

This could have been a legendary release, but we got something alright. I am sad that so many fronts are somewhat lacking.
If you run out when pillage/plunder is a thing, no comment.
