its funny how people say this game is easier that DD1 but as soon you look at the wiki...
you notice that most of the weapons do exactly the same damage , and enemies have almost the same amount of HP and damage.
You all should take off the nostalgia glasses , the problem here is that you all already know the game mechanics too much.

Drakes are not soft lol. A 600 strength bow chips the drakes head or heart damage. Can you kill it quickly? Sure, with sorc flare+helm splitter. Does it make it an easy enemy? No, but you could do similar things to them in DDDA. Magick archer trivialized the game and made everything a one shot kill, even Daimon.

Not sure what happens there with your bow. Dd1 drake def is 400, thats what we need to overcome... I managed to penetrate the def of Drake in dd2 using unupgraded superior trusty sword with around 330 str total just with light attack which means either the drake is soft, or fighter's light attack base str push me far beyond 400...
well it could be that , its all depends of what vocations you used during your whole playtrough.

generally speaking videogame players perform better as time passes, mechanics and fights that might have been challenging 10-15 years ago are now considered trivial
not true for every single bit and game but i think it's just the way it is

add how dd2 doesnt really add anything groundbreaking to the combact system and there you go, game's easy

Yes and no the thing that was making the game MUCH easier in the first opus was the fact you could heal back all of your life with just basic potion.
Wich is not the case with the tired system here. So you need to get some forgery of portacrystal to fix it wich is not cheap

i mean to be fair DD isn't even hard o_O

Dragon's Dogma 1 was never hard. The core game has always been about conveying a fun adventurous feeling and both games do that perfectly.

Dark Arisen DLC was here for challenge and endgame grind. And it did that perfectly too. Enjoy the adventure for now. DLC will come.

i played all builds to max in dd1, its absolutly harder, you can die even as high lv. in DD2 once you above 30 you are like god lol, its more like a simulator i would say.

Yes because the game didn’t change any mechanics or add any new skills, oh wait…

Even on Hard mode, DD1 was just way too easy. But with that said, I'd like to see a Hard mode in the near future for 2.
Kineticbomb 9 abr. 2024 às 6:19
DD1 has hard mode and DD2 does not. We don't know if DD2 difficulty is the same as DD1 hard mode or a mix of normal and hard, it's still a unfair comparison to make.

If DD2 released with hard mode then it would be fair. Also DD1 hard mode is only dififcult in the first few hours because most bosses and elite enemies easily 1 shot you for lacking defenses.

In hard mode you also level up way faster and gain way more gold because 10k gold is scattered everywhere making gearing up so much faster and easier. Also Dark Arisen made early game even easier because you can do level 1 strider chest runs in bitterblack isle. Unequip gear, leave pawns behind and just run past all the enemies while looting the chests.

You know how to play dragon's dogma, it stopped being difficult for you years ago.

Weird if its all the same, since I can kill Drakes significantly faster in DD2 than DD1.

Excluding skills that kill a Drake in 5 seconds (Flare, Martyr, etc), I still generally kill them way faster in DD2. Maybe part of it is because they don't insta-kill all your pawns anymore? No idea.

Yes would be nice to have some challenge. From the start of the game I only run around with my main pawn that is it and it is np.

But then again it was the same back in the first game to and that game has a Hard Mode.
The only place you got any challenge was DLC Bitterblack Isle and even after finishing farming that place for top gear you became OP for that place and in core game combat became absolute joke especially if you were already lvl 200 or playing any of the mystic classes.
And NG+ was exactly like this in first game to: no new challenge just same thing again.

Later if I remember correctly moders meade mods that raised difficulty of the game so lets hope they will do the same for this one if not already.

The real challenge for me again in Dragon's Dogma is managing my inventory and not getting stuck in middle of combat on little rocks on the ground. lol

but they did , losing max health its a new mechanic that works pretty well after fighting strong bosses. Enemies breaking your stance more , too. And there are a bunch more

well they could easily make it harder , because the difficulty works dynamically , just like enemy spawn. DD1 was static as it could be , and enemies ( putting bandits apart) could not break your stance at all , so if you already knew the map and the enemies, the game was cheesed.

because they rebalanced it a bit , you do more damage and the weak spot its a little bigger , but drake do a lot more damage too , and they spit a lot more fire.

Drakes do more damage in DD2? I don't think so, maybe its defense or something. But in DD1 I'm almost always 1-2 shot by a Drake while playing Sorcerer. In DD2 I can take a few hits.

The fire attacks are a lot wider in DD2, and harder to avoid. Thats for sure.
