Could Understand Elvish and Now Can't
So I gave bunches of flowers to the smith in Arbor Village and she gave me the scroll to learn the woodland language ability. I was able to see English words when I spoke to villagers now while doing Trial of Archery all the sudden that ability is gone. I tried giving the inn keeper flowers since she can give the scroll too but she doesn't. This will be an issue for the later parts of the game.

You basically never need to know Elvish.

You might've either overwritten your pawn's specialization with something else, or dismissed the pawn that knew elvish.

My main pawn had it then i got a scroll that gave him logistician. I guess I didn't know they overwrote eachother...how stupid..

Pretty sure the tutorial warns you of this, but i might be remembering wrong.

Pawns learn it with woodland wordsmith trait. You can get it from affinity with pretty much any elf i have a bunch of them cuz i gave a lot of elfs wyrmslife crystals cuz it's a one and done affinity maxer.

Basically if you can't understand it anymore its because you replaced the trait on your pawn and neither of your rented pawns have it either.

That's how the game designed it, you should've admitted already that you did not read those tutorials, did something wrong, then got mad. :steamhappy:

To be fair, nobody reads the entirety of something that's filled with meaningless info or that should be common sense.
"This scroll teaches you a skill" NEXT
Might as well make the important parts fine print.

I do. And if everybody did as well, this thread wouldn't exist.

I can see why devs still insist on even having tutorials in games. I guess they aren't enough anymore, gotta go with font size 80 moving forward with 'important parts' in bold, italic, underlined and glowing with rainbow colours.

And people will probably still miss it.

Just kill all of the elves and then there will be no need to learn elvish.

Who said I was mad? I didn't notice it. Again, for the slow people such as yourself, just because it says doesn't make it not stupid. Take you for instance. You say things and yet...

Since this has been taken over by perfect mother filters who never make a mistake there is no point in continuing the "discussion".
