How to get a pawn to use springboard???
I found a rock that has a harpy's nest with a ton of loot in it. Im a fighter and I have a warrior pawn with me, but no matter how much I press go and help they do nothing. I have tried throwing them up there and like a d-ass they simply jump down. This mechanic is so stupid. There needs to be an actual button that requests a pawn that has springboard to use it. I have no idea how im supposed to get this loot unless I change vocations which I don't want to do. Why is the use springboard command so lame.

you cant make pawn use it. they choose to use it in combat and regardless of need.

if it s reachable by shield jump then you can use it and a pawn will jump, true they might jump down immediately (i know AI retarded) but keep spamming. sooner or later they ll loot. provided if its a chest, pawns cant loot tokens.

luckily we got so few locations like that. %99 of time a location s reachable either by parkour or harpy ride.

its not a chest this is the point. Not all loot is in a chest, seeker tokens and gold bags as well as other loot is up on high places. How do I get to that stuff if I cant get the pawn to do what I want. I cannot double jump and the game prevents you from climbing. What do I do!

Take Mage or Sorc and use Levitation.

I will tell you how. It's quite simple. They have to offer you assistance to reach it. If you hear the pawn say "I can help you reach it" or "Can I offer my assistance?" you press "go!" and then they execute the springboard for fighter/warrior or for mages they just glide there to pick up the loot, it's clunky and not always triggers but that's how it works.

And in case it isn't obvious, this only works for chests and ladders.

You glide or look for a place to climb up the cliffs, look around more.

I use harpy lures. Place it close to the rock, grab the harpy's feet and it will take you up.

Use the Go! command near the ledge you want to reach. They will offer help so you know it will work.

I had a theory with a friend which basically boiled down to: The pawns have to learn what they can and can't access via either springboard / the warrior one / levitate/ (I don't think they can learn to rogue double jump which is how I got most items myself) from an arisen that does it themselves, then take the knowledge back. i play mainly martial vocations but I eventually got around to mage/sorc because I ran out of things to level and I levitated up to a chest with another magic pawn in my party and she spouted some "how inspired arisen I shall have to inform my own master of this" or some such. I don't think this is universal as I usually have my main pawn set to fighter and he offers to toss me to a lot of places and doesn't see much use in the rift but maybe someone was just really thorough near Vernworth with him.

tl;dr it is possible they have to learn what to do. unsure.

For the ones you can, you can just use the go command and they'll do it, sometimes they'll even suggest doing it and the go command will make them do it.

Otherwise theres lots of spots that look like they should be able to do it but theres nothing that will get them to and those ones ur typically supposed to levitate to and in the ones where its not even accessible with that u need a harpy smoke beacon and just ride a harpy to it.

The TL:DR for the game is that the devs wanted vocation diversity. So much so they make doing some things impossible without a vocation in mind (or specific item). Change the party up so you have Levitation in it and you can bypass a lot of frustration.

Use a harpy-sign for getting up to unreachable positions. You can buy some at the refuge camp near Melve.

This calls a harpy anywhere on the map at the sign, which is peaceful. You just need to jump and grab it, and you it will fly up with you. You can steer it somehwat horizontally.

I suppose it won't work indoors, however. (didn't try it, yet.)

It seems, springboard won't wokr out of combat for you. (but perhaps for your pawn. Best result could be a simple inclination, to make it open a chest and collect things.)

Another solution - depending on height and possipe rechable ledges on same height but too far away to jump over - is to play a mage or sorcerer and using levitate.

And the third solution might be a thief with skull splitter. (a gameplay for that, instead of douböe.jump.)

so if they dont offer you assistance you just cant have the loot? Im going to try the harpy lure and see if this helps. Its very frustrating feeling like you are forced to be either a thief or a mage so you can get certain items high up on rocks since the pawns will not help you unless they say they will but usually do not. I feel like im being punished for not having those vocations. Le Sigh

If a pawn spots a chest or ladder out of reach, and they have springboard, you can command them to springboard you. You have to use the GO command
Poddy Apr 8, 2024 @ 8:21pm
I press springboard and the movement button shows behind me. Than my pawn come and use the board.
