Or they could do a camera zoom so that the characters legs aren't visible, and if they clip the floor to make it work, it won't be an issue XD
I think overall we could stand to have more interactions with our main Pawns, be it hugs, pats on the back or simply more dialogue options. Things like "Good job!" or "Don't worry, it is ok" when they apologize for falling in the water lol Mayhaps a "I am just glad you're back."
Things that you should be able to do IF you want to, as an option:
- when you camp in the wilderness each pawn should have their own tent (that should always be a thing, not even an option), alternatively, at last give the pawns one shared tent, as it is now the pawns literally sleep on the ground, not even a blanket or bedroll is used (if you idle in camp your pawns will eventually go to sleep and you see how they just lie on the ground)
- optional, once the main pawn affinity is high enough, have the hired pawns have their tent and the main pawn sleep in the tent of the Arisen, IF you (the player) want it, the game already implies you share a bed when you sleep in the player home anyway
- why is it that the hired pawns always wait outside your player home and apparently sleep out in the streets? Why do they never come inside? Who would treat them like that???? Each house should have a room / beds for the hired pawns, what kind of person would have the hired pawns wait outside while you and your main pawn enjoy the luxury of your own home??? You would certainly want to share meals etc and give them a roof above their head? You only spend all this time together and you depend on each other to take down monsters. I mean, make it optional of course, if you want to be a terrible person, but allow players to tell hired pawns that they should please consider the player home their home as well
- based on main pawn affinity offer a few options: hugging has been suggested, what about gifts, a short sleeping in the same bed animation? I mean, even if pawns are supposed to be soulless husks according to the lore basic human psychology would at least have a non trivial number of people still treat them humanely, they look human, they talk like humans and given how attractive most pawns are it is extremely unlikely (some) people would not develop some attraction to them. And you, as the Arisen, even have a special relationship with pawns, while you should be allowed to play a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Arisen, the game should also allow you to play a compassionate and warmhearted Arisen, that includes treating pawns not just like "assets" or "tools". I mean, the game even allows you to present your main pawn as your most loved one as a valid option for one of the Sphinx riddles, but this is never followed up on or further elaborated. Other than that your main pawn can without a doubt kind of fall in love with the Arisen or at least develop a crush, this can only mean one thing, the pawns in DD2 can develop feelings (and the ending even says they can get free will). But even if you consider pawns nothing but mere pets how many people treat their pet like a small human or at least would go to great lengths to make sure their pet is happy etc, Pawn treatment is genuinely messed up in this game
- and I am not even mentioning how a realistic society would actually treat pawns... with all the pros and cons...
So in short: more wholesome pawn interactions (at least with the main pawn) would be nice to have, redesign the player homes so the hired pawns have a room/beds as well, don't let them always wait outside... make it optional for those who want to be terrible people and treat pawns like household objects, but also include the option to be nice to them. Also, the option to "romance" your main pawn should be included, especially since the main pawn can fall in love with the Arisen (all the telltale signs are there), not that romance matters in DD2 anyway, given how silly it is and how rudimentary it has been implemented, but it would be realistic that at least some Arisen would want to reciprocate their main pawn's feelings, given how you spend literally 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with your pawn, it's only natural that you would develop some form of attachment to the person you literally spend all of your time with, or at least some would, you should be allowed to play as a psychopath of course, everything should always be optional and require player interaction, but do not make terrible behaviour towards (hired) pawns (like never even inviting them inside your home) the default and the only option. I hate how the hired pawns never dare enter your home. This is beyond silly.

I think, maybe some of the "missing" things were time/budget limitations, and some might even be a bug.
I have only ever once had my Main Pawn sit in the cart with me! All the other times they walk on foot, but they pretend they took the cart.
I think that has to be a bug, or they couldn't figure out how to do it.
It might also depend on proximity and the pawn command "go" versus "to me" or as you say a bug, I found it odd that pawns were repeating the same lines for specific parts of the game and would only utter new ones when progressing in the main quest while forgetting the old ones, maybe a coincidence but this dialogue line swap happens.
