The Dragon Princess
A recent leak suggests the following:

An expansion is planned to release called The Dragon Princess. It will take place in a new area called Galacyia and the main story will center around a female arisen, hence the title. (The female arisen mentioned here is not the player, just the nexus of the story.)

Further details:

-Galacyia is a land of swamps and tundra based on areas in northern Europe, and is as large as the entire world map from the base game.
-Expansion is apparently the largest ever produced by Capcom and has been in production beside the base game for some time.
- The expansion will not alter any content in the base game.
- While the new region will be accessible at any point, the story of the expansion only becomes available after players have beaten the base game.
- 10 new large monsters and 35 new enemy types.

It is planned to release in November 2024 for $29.99.

Taking this with a grain of salt is my obvious advice, but let's examine this closely.

An expansion is inevitable. The game has sold well enough already to warrant it. Capcom is one of the very few developers/publishers who consistently release meaty expansions. Working on the expansion alongside the base game makes sense, as an expansion of this apparent size would take several years to develop. Releasing an expansion within a year of the game's release is the smartest thing they could do.

Now to the inevitable... If this expansion is so far into development that they plan to release it in November, they should obviously have delayed the game and just combined everything into... the game.

Fake leak from some dungeon dweller? Probably. Greedy if true? Definitely. Would I buy it?

Immediately.

Probably fake, but it's fun to speculate and discuss.

Then it's even worse. Either this NPC "Arisen" is so poor at her job we need to come and fix things up for her OR we're just a useless bystander that doesn't do anything.

Also again, about the end game: you break the cycle, so there's no new cycles .

If you don't get the true ending that isn't true. That being said there is no post-game for Dragon slayers.

Overall I think the leak is false although it is fun to discuss. The title might be true but that's about as much as I would believe until an official statement.

That begs the question: Why is it a true ending if it's not going to be the official ending?

But yeah, the whole thing is based on a 4chan leak were they announce capcom titles and release dates, including DD2: Dragon Princess and MH Wilds and RE-X in 2025 (poorly made logos at that)

Even if the title is true, I would be willing to bet the content is just someone just reading "Dragon Princess" and automatically assuming it's just another female arisen. One thing about capcom titles is that they're very literal, and the arisen is no dragon.

You missed something here... this new arisen isn't the player character. She's an npc. Players still play as their own arisen.

Edit: To get more in depth, this would mean that the player's arisen killed their Dragon, and that for some reason the cycle began anew much more quickly than it should have, with a new dragon and arisen. Your arisen (former arisen?) travels to Galacyia and somehow becomes involved in this new cycle.

This new content would obviously take place after killing Grigori, not after the true ending. That true is a bit of a misnomer. No one ending is the true ending. They are alternate endings. All of them are canon.

As for story speculation, any ai generated lines they want to throw together are fine with me, as long as I can go out exploring with my pawn buddies. The story in this series has no effect on my enjoyment of it, and my enjoyment is sky high.

In that case I hope nobody supports that but well. We are already here.

That's not how it works. But keep crying like a clown you are.

But there are no cannons in the game.

There's not even throwblasts or dragonspit.

Technology has literally regressed since the times when Gran Soren wasn't submerged under the ocean.

That's how terrible Beastren are at existing and ruling over the lands.

I doubt it will be deliberately cut content but it'll possibly be some cut content that didn't make the deadline. Or it could be something new like Bitterblack. Personally I'm hoping for the wild moon stuff that didn't make it into the first game.

Dark Souls 1's DLC is repurposed cut content and so is large chunks of New Vegas' DLCs (mainly Honest Hearts and Lonesome Road). It's something that does happen from time to time.

Somewhere an Arisen who lost a loved one to a dragonspit bombing became the Seneschal and then erased all knowledge of its existence from all future dimensions.

Corruption in positions of power, I tell you!

Either that or he decided that explosives make even non-Arisens capable of killing the Dragon and that is generally "not on" as they say, and erased the knowledge to prevent it.

Magicks that conjure meteors and stuff are perfectly fine though lol. Silly Seneschal.

If this Nexus Arisen is going prevent me of using my customized Arisen or customizing a new Arisen... I'll be so, so pissed. Still remember DD1 when you start the prelude as this half-baked Arisen... it was torture to complete the prelude just to get to finally customize your Arisen. I seriously think that games like DD1 and DD2 demonstrate that nonsense that so many people love about POV characters have to be pigeonholed to have exactly a specific look for their backstory is horrible. Why not let us as gamers in this more interactive media that is video games create our own POV characters we feel connected to?

I've stated this previously, but the dragon princess, the female arisen, is a story npc.
