I spent 4 hours on my pawn and didn't consent to it being stolen plain and simple. If you can't understand why someone would be upset over their hours of work being stolen in a click, then it's a you issue. I made my PFP in 2 minutes and if someone stole it i couldn't care less.
I'm not really upset, just disappointed. And i thought i'd better tell people who spent hours on their characters that this is happening rather than just say nothing.
A lot of people didn't consent to their unique pawn being stolen and it's only natural that they'd set it to private to prevent it from being stolen.
It really isn't a me issue though - they didn't mess with "your" pawn, but their own. Once your pawn is uploaded to the server, it's out there. Just like folks who maybe put your pawn into a different set of gear (or nothing at all) - it's their game, and they can play it how they want.
After-all, who are you to gatekeep what other pawns are allowed to look like. Would you be this upset if someone instead screen-shotted your pawn and tried to re-create it that way?
Sorry to say it - but this isn't Social Media where "OC Do not steal" holds up. Once you click "Confirm Pawn" or whatever, it is added to the public space.
The fact you can't understand someone wouldn't want their pawn stolen is the you issue. Like the fact that i don't want my pawn being stolen, it's a me issue.
They can mess with my pawn all they want in game. My pawn is meant to be hired, you can do what you want with her, throw her off cliffs, give her equipment, remove her equipment, you are the arisen here. It's all in game stuff that i consented to, i know stuff like that will happen and i'm not complaining.
I didn't press any button in the game to "share your pawn's appearance with others" or anything like that, that's my problem.
I'd have 0 issues with someone screenshoting my pawn and trying to recreate it because at that point they are putting work in the sliders.
Note that if Capcom made a pawn sharing feature this wouldn't be a problem.
Edit: About the "OC do not steal" thing, that is how it worked before the mod was released, if you didn't want your oc stolen you just didn't share the sliders lol.
