Never received Mystic Spearhand Maister skill after chasing off the dragon

Is there a fix for this or do I just need to start over again?

Try giving him a gift then talking to him a few times, for me I got it when I went to fight another dragon Sigurd was near later on

If you just chased the dragon out of Melve and didn't kill it, you get the skill later at Dragonsbreath Tower when you meet up with Sigurd and deal with it there. Not sure if you get the skill if you kill it in Melve before it can leave.

He just walked off and never returned where the dragon fight took place. Its been days and he still hasn't returned.

If you kill the dragon at melve he just immediately gives you the master skill if you talk to him, at least he did for me

He isn't showing up at Harve either I think it's probably bugged?

you don't typically get the skill after the melve attack, go to dragonbreath tower and do that

Oh ok wait...so Melve's dragon is NOT dead, and you DID get the vocation, but it is just the Maister skill you need?

The dragon has to die if you want the skill, if you didn't kill it in Melve then it will be encountered again at a place called Dragonsbreath Tower.

if you want the skill the dragon has to die, if you kill it at melve with the ballista you get the skill there

He gives you the skill if/when you kill the dragon.

It could be early in Melve
or it could be at dragonsbreath tower (assuming you failed to kill it)

Also note that you can bug the Melve dragon fight by killing the dragon right after "failing to kill the dragon".

In which case you get the exp (and probably badge), the dragon corpse disappears and you get to fight it again at the tower.

I found the Mystic Spearhand maister in Harve village and just talked to him after going in and rescuing the soldiers from the monster culling quest.
