So is there endgame time limit?
There is two versions to this:
1.Even if you handle all the beacons (save for the seafloor one) you will have about 12 days till game kicks you out.
2.If you handle the beacons fog won't progress and you can be in unmoored world as much as you like.
Which one is true? Thanks

there is no time limit after beacons are done. there is a sleep limit. you can basically spend as much time as you want there as long as you dont sleep but there is a catch. if you die and dont use a wakestone back to the beginning of your run you go.

Well then if sleep is limited, does sleeping progress the fog/red mist anyway?

not the fog after the beacons are done no.

I've dealt with all the beacons besides the last one that appears in the seafloor castle town, and also revived Talos which took down another "ur-dragon" thing. Since then I haven't slept more than once at the beginning. As far as I can tell the fog hasn't moved? But my pawns keep mentioning the fog being dangerous, and claiming "the fog has stopped" when I win certain random fights. I've put a waypoint down near a certain spot where there's fog, so if I see the fog get closer I'll know for sure. But that'll take a while.

both are true.

time doesn't pass in unmoored world unless you rest.

the "time limit" is that after a certain number of rests, areas will get nuked.

if you do things a certain way (there are 2 ways to do it) the areas will either not get nuked or they evacuate before being nuked

if you evac/take care of the threat you will get a final beam that ends it.

if you don't evac/take care of the threat you will get the final beam after 12 days so 11 rests? unsure on the count because i've never gotten that far.

if you die out in the world, you will wake up outside of unmoored. force quit when you die and when you come back it will let you load from last save.

if you die in a red event, do the same and it will let you load from previous battle (before you trigger the red event) or from rests/days. either the first day or your latest rest.

it sounds like a big deal but if you're level 50+ and clearing bosses in a few seconds it's really more a matter of farming as much as possible before getting kicked out.

If you die, is it a hard reset (You loose everything you've collected - money, gears, etc) or just the beacon being turned back on?

If the beacons are not removed, then yes sleeping is what progresses them not time, as time will essentially stop at midnight until you do finally sleep.

the fog doesn't "get closer" it eats the towns where the red nodes are, with a cutscene, when you rest enough.

the fog does nothing if you don't rest. the main benefit of doing talos fast enough in the normal game is that he will take down 2 red portals and it says "the mist stopped" and it won't advance even after rests. (though it might just be for those 2 towns, i dunno).

you are just underlevelled or undergeared/skilled if you have to rest at all, let alone 12 times, before doing all evacs+red beams.

Both are true. The clearer version:
With beacons, there is a countdown, every passed day losing a part of the map. Beacons cleared, the countdown is gone. But there is still a hard limit of 12 rest/days. And even though you can stay there as long as you like, but everyday passing from morning to midnight then time will froze there, so only a rest can progress to the next day.

Sidenote, and if can not progress to the next day, the store doesn't update, and bosses doesn't respawn.

Alright then, that's good to know, thanks for making it clear
I have not yet explored unmoored world too much but it seems that to get every piece of dragonforged item we need about 1800 crystals.
Is there a good farm you know of?

If you die you go back to the beginning of that particular day, and everything you accomplished that day is gone.

How so? I died and couldn't ress because my wakestones were in storage. Only option i had was to start from the beginning of the day so i lost like 5 hours to that because had to redo all quests and events again.

A small trick, if cutscene happen try Alt-F4 or just close the game. Then you can load back before the fight.
