Cannot get Medusan Spellbow to drop, any tips?

I've now fought Medusa around 17 or 18 times, with absolutely no luck. I've been fighting it as Thief, using the Ring of Derision to knock it down before severing the head. The bow is not in my storage so I definitely didn't miss a pawn picking it up.

I haven't been able to find anything else on this topic other than what the bow is used for. Did anyone else run into this horrible RNG curse or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

She should drop it the first time she dies.

nah its just a rng drop. i got it on my first try by not cutting off the head. the second try i reloaded a dozen times to try to get the head off before one bar, during that time my thief stole it once but never again. no drop same with third and fourth kills for bones no drop.

I got it from my first encounter with the Medusa.
But strangely I received it during the fight, well before the Medusa died.

I was on its back the entire time trying to chop its head off. And I was randomly getting loot throughout the encounter.

Maybe chopping the snakey bits off her head? Dunno.

All ill say is don't reflect her gaze turning her to stone....

Just did this as I needed her bones and bow and no loot from petrified enemies it seems so i'm now waiting 2 weeks for her to respawn :(

So glad I'm playing as a fighter able to use a shield to reflect her gaze only gir it to bite me in the butt.

Well, a warfarer using Archer and fighter anyway...

I got it during the fight after she pulled out her own bow. One of the pawns picked it up. Originally, I thought it came from a random chest that one of the pawns opened during the fight. I'm guessing to get it to drop you have to knock it out of her hand somehow.

There's something strange about the Medusa bow, yeah. I got it first time I killed her, as did another friend, but my friend who restarted the game before meeting her has never gotten one from her despite killing her some 18 times now.

I entered NG+ and killed her again and didn't get a bow from the first kill again. Killed her another 7 times and still no bow.

Not sure what's up with it. It's either an insanely rare drop, or only drops once when you kill it the first time and that can bug out so you don't receive it, or possibly both but with a really high chance of dropping on the first kill.

Or maybe it's a time based thing. The first fight against her took quite a while, especially since I was only a Rank 3 Sorcerer at the time. Maybe there's something to the fight about how long she's alive for, causing the bow to become a drop. I haven't paid enough attention actually. I got hit by her bow A LOT during the first fight, though I doubt that has anything to it...unless she discards the bow when she runs out of ammo? lol

It's basically just the Bezel Crown Bow from DD1 though, it's nothing special although I guess earning like 70,000 XP from a single Dullahan kill might be something to write home about, lol.

Capcom will probably hotfix it at some point, and the bow will probably become really common or something, I dunno.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like I got it. Maybe it needs to be sent as a gift when you dismiss?

it can take 20-30 mins for a pawn to update to the cloud after being sent back.
