Strategy of gear upgrade and Gold Acquisition in Dragon's Dogma 2
Hello everyone,

I've fully leveled up my Artisan Mystic Spearhand vocation and have now switched to the thief class. I invested a significant amount of gold in purchasing a complete set of thief gear (including weapon, armor, etc.) at Battahl, and I also enhanced them to level 1, which cost a considerable amount of gold. I definitely did not have enough gold to buy a full set of best gear at Battahl for Mystic Spearhand. Once I've maxed out my thief vocation, I'll likely need to switch to another vocation. Am I approaching the game correctly by investing a lot of gold in buying and enhancing gear whenever i switch to a new vocation? And do you have any tips on how to earn gold quickly? Ultimately I still want to main mystic spearhand or maybe wayfarer. please advice.

the quickest way to earn gold quickly is do 10k reward quests from pawns.
the second quickest way is to do quests.

What i did was to buy best available gear that can be used with multiple vocations, they are not that much worse than those that works only for one vocation. This saves tons and tons of money.

no advice on how to makey money since i never run out of it without even farming, it just naturally came to me when exploring.

a good way to make money is jst stealing stuff from merchants and special npcs. some of them have a platinum membership card for the brothel which sells for 15k each xD - even the beggar :D

Look for pawns that have quests paying 5 and 10k gold. My pawn frequently has these as I am collecting his badges. Get a forager pawn they seem to like to pick things up the most.

without abusing the pawn system theres:

1) Diggers cave: Sell all the coal there, you make 10k each run and then rest for 7 days to repeat.

2) Thief Steal and gold augment: Nuff said, just steal everything with the thief skill.

My first playthrough looked simillar its normal you have to save up gold a little and only upgrade gear once with best options, better to buy something later rather than buying and reselling it for half price. Good usage of crafting system ballancing weight to loot everything set's up whole playthrough tbh. I swapped vocations only after maxing the one I play.

Once you reach late game you can just go hunt something and gold will come your way I usually liked to kill golems on lower lvls near Battahl. it's 1.2k gold per one Magisk Medal and they usually drop a lot.

i spent 0 gold on anything except ferrystones and quest stuff.

you don't need to spend money on gear if you explore enough. and the endgame is using wyrm crystals to get the endgame gear.

the fastest way to get gold is buying cheap food from one town, letting it ripen. and mass turning in at a vendor that pays premium for it, i've seen strategies that claim over 400k / hr doing this, but didn't bother because never needed gold.

the game is too easy, and made easier by keeping all your items up to date via vendors. by the midpoint of the game you're OP without much gear.

it's not harmful to spend gold on new gear, just overkill, especially with a few unmoored/ng playthroughs where you'll be selling most of the gear you get
