Sick of these rude NPCs
Every NPC I talk to says some sort of threat or tells me to go away, even though I've done quests with them, saved their lives, gave them gifts.

Affinity being based on affinity with others and it decreasing overtime just causes this chain reaction where NPCs just start to hate you and I'm sick of it. They boasted about their NPCs (that tank games performance) yet THIS is what it's all about. I don't see why anyone would want to play or make a game that makes you feel bad.

What?

Half the Elven town blushes when I walk by. I've got so many people maxed in affinity from basic questing and escort missions. You can also hand out bunch of flowers left and right since there are tons of materials to make them.

It actually gets annoying going to Vermund and having people follow me around everywhere I go. I'm going to recommend you hand out some flowers, not only does it help them gush over you, but they also dump a ton of gifts by your door with notes all the time. Also, when you max out a Meister's affinity, they give you an ultimate skill that you and your pawn can use for the respective class it belongs to.

Sunbloom, Noonbloom and Moonglow. Got them memorized because of the benefits they come with.

Have too many people follow you and they end up brawling in your home for your affection

Only time I get hostility from people is when I have my weapons drawn / have been waving them around/attacking near them. When actual combat with monsters isn't happening.

edit: it is a bit silly when you have a fight on the road, and the NPCs join in; but then within second of killing the monsters & them cheering, they go all "hey, watch where you're pointing those things! You dare!" :O

Well maybe stop picking up all the NPCs and tossing them in the air like children? I mean, grown people don't like that...

Oh wow! I've been rather hesitant to give people gifts, because I thought it leads to romance, and, well I haven't really met an NPC I am very fond of yet, and prior to game's release, I heard if you get cozy with more than one person, they get jealous or something.
I have so many flowers! Guess I should start handing them around XD

That being said, shop keepers and NPCs I've done quests for, seem to be very kind to me. These two little girls I've helped in Vermund keep showing up at my door to say Hi lol It is so cute.

I don't. I'm not going to do stuff NPCs dislike and then complain it when they are rude, you silly man. I don't draw my weapons around them, I give gifts (As I said if you read in the first place) and I help them in fights. I roleplay and treat them nicely but for some reason EVERY NPC is rude to me.

I don't know why it's so different with me, that sounds much nicer than NPCs being horrible to me. I did get the glitch where every NPC aggroes onto you and I had to rest for a week so I wonder if there's something going on where the affinity people have with me is set to 0 permanently.

It just makes the experience worse when I do want to care for the world and characters and this is what they do.

Don't worry about Romance it isn't like Dogma 1. No one ever moves in with you, you are never forced to kiss some npc you save from the dragon, etc. The only romance scenes in this game (as far as I know) are exclusively with female npcs that have dedicated quest chains you have to progress to reach them. In some cases you even have to progress them in specific ways.

They also aren't even tied to max affinity, as in, if you do the quests in a way that leads to romance scene.... you get the scene.

Ok...

I saw an npc at the bridge of Vernworth saying "How did i end up here?" i talked to him to see if he had an escort quest, and he told me to go away as everyone usually does, this time i took the opportunity to throw him off the bridge though.

Idk why npcs are like that in this game but they gave us a tool to mess with them so i'm not complaining too much lol.

I don't, I even put it away as soon as a fight ends if there's NPCs around.

Yes!

I believe you can only gain affinity with an npc once per day. So I stick to giving flowers in between quests, before you know it you'll have the town fawning over you and your door will be riddle with notes and gifts.

Also like I mentioned before, it's how some meisters give you ultimate abilities and how you can gain specialties for pawns.

What have you done to them? Were you kind to them? Treat them like your family, best friend and they are gonna react nicely to you. But some people just never be good, nice. Not everyone, some of them.
