Gran Soren is in DD2 theory
I was watching a random streamer named Roza Coatl. She just arrived in the unmoored world and when she came to the seafloor shrine she suddenly said that was Gran Soren city map. and tried to compare it to Gran Soren and even noticed the castle map is in reverse.

You can guess that Moonlight Tower is actually Bluemoon Tower. Based on the distance even if the map is reversed it kinda works

Have we been playing a new cycle which was built upon a destroyed Gran Soren? OMG I watched some streams and DD2 videos on youtube and only this random streamer said that and now I'm obsessed in the theory of the world is the former Gran Soren.

I am not up to scratch with the Lore on DD, but I thought DD2 was another world entirely from Gransys so how can it be Grand Soren?

true it was said that DD2 is an alternate world but that doesn't mean Gran Soren and Gransys did not exist in this world. In this world Gransys might've been destroyed and turned into ruins that's why you can see some familiar places from DD1.

Maybe this world is more of a continuation to Netflix's Dragons Dogma coz the arisen in that anime had a somewhat bad end. And many cycles later that world might've been destroyed and turned into this one in DD2 but you can clearly find traces of Gransys here.

DD2 lore never pick this up o even hint at it yes. Can be just as a Easter egg. But you can definitely say, this might still be the same world, and Gransys is a ancient ancient kingdom in the past. That time past on even Gran Soren is at sea floor.

Yeah there is a video floating around that shows the 1 to 1 comparisons of Gran Soren to the sunken shrine/city, and they are identical.

This find was pretty amazing imo and I love when games do stuff like this.

This video?

Also when you realize the Seafloor Shrine is Grand Soren once you check the map again you could slightly guess where everything else was from DD1 and you'll see it really is familiar

yeah I mean the ruins poking out of the water near vernworth are blatantly bluemoon tower, it is the exact same shape and size. Any vet of DD1 would have spotted that at first glance.

Doesn't make this the same "world" as game 1. I mean your pawns knew where the find that chest you didn't cause they are in in "alternate" version of Vermund/Battahl right? Same with game one, there were infinite "versions" of Gransys.

While it is most definitely Gran Soren, is it our Gran Soren from DD1? They are rather forthright with the lore of parallel worlds here. They all connect through the rift.

This is one of an infinite number of Gran Sorens. At least that's my understanding as it seems fairly cut and dry.

Brought a tear to my eye when I first realized I was in Gran Soren though, not gonna lie.

what if that's Netflix's Gran Soren from the anime coz that world was truly dark and on the way to doom.

I had this eerie feeling when I arrived there that it seemed and felt familiar. But I was too busy saving the world and evacuating the people to "Gran Soren" haha. now I wist there was no time limit to explore the unmoored world. I wanted to visit the little girl who wanted to learn magic since they lived near Melve. I don't know if she and her grandparents survived
Just don't rest.

I was excited when that was announced. What a trash fire that was, but yes, that was just another parallel world.

I'm sure other's have cottoned on to this, but with DD1 Capcom essentially created a universe in which they have the potential to create an unlimited number of games that can be as loosely or tightly connected as they wish. It's literally cannon that innumerable parallel worlds are simultaneously undergoing the cycle of the dragon and arisen, yet each world has it's own unique history.

In DD2's world specifically, if you achieve the true ending, you end the cycle. Uncountable other worlds, however, are still repeating the cycle. Those that are wondering how a sequel could happen after the finality of the true ending just don't get it.

There is no ending. Nor will there ever be.

Maybe there never will be. Coz there are alternate worlds out there, even if we in out playthrough ended the cycle. Multiple other alternate worlds are still stuck in the cycle so yeah it will never end. Maybe DD3 will have a map that DD2's map will be the ruins this time.

Yay. Gran Soren...

Now will someone tell me why my fishing village turned into a volcano. (I'm pretending its the same world cause it would be funnier)

Exactly. Even the time period and level of technological advancement isn't necessarily equivalent between worlds. Natural and/or supernatural disasters may have vastly altered the landscape on some worlds. Perhaps others have had their people's populations so devastated by apocalyptic events that they eek out a living a few steps from extinction.

You can see the Seneschal throne in the seas shrine as well. Rothias is sitting in it.
