If you kill him early you don't have to evacuate 2 settlements that would reward you with wyrmslife crystals. Does player get them anyway?

The Wakestone Shards from Talos are collected from the pole bits that fall out as you damage them, they're a weakpoint of sorts. If you use the Unmaking Arrow on Talos while it's still in the water, then yes you lose these as they all immediately fall out.

you can pick them up from the seafloor in the unmoored world.

Do a bed save before mission. Shoot him, get achievement, quit to main menu and do it however you want.

Same with the DD sword if you don't need to use it for your class. Why waste 100 currency on it?

Not complicated. Game is pretty forgiving.

I don't recall getting any when big boi went to town on it but maybe I was supposed to go pick them up from somewhere and I missed them xD
