I never said there wasnt 1.. I said that Heavy Armor and 1 set for the Archer does look good. some others are *ok* but not 1 for the Thief, as example, looks good imo.
IT'S A ♥♥♥♥♥♥ RPG SO TREAT IT AS SUCH !
when you start think about what team you want to be, their look and personality is not that hard, you have to be creative, hell i play as a basic knight so i dont have very strong armor and weapon, but i have spend my time to find the best armor to make my pawn look like a sister of battle from 40k.
After one feature i'm not happy with the equipment is that the cape give nothing as they cant be upgraded, in the first game you was abble to complete stuff well in term of resistance whith the cape upgrade whithout having to sacrifice the look, damn the ammount of itme i have spend on upgrading my pawn stuff on the first game.
my issue is, my character has a sleeve tatt and a back tatt.. I want NO SLEEVES as an option on my armor to show the Sleeve Tatt in full, cant cuz gauntlets are tied to the Chest and especially for thief I dont like the one tanktop option cuz it shows the entire stomach part too which is not what Im going for with the style Im trying.
the ONLY 2 pieces of armor that let me show them are the Stargazer garb and the Brunhilda one.. I dont wanna look skimpy just so my character can have the tatts showing. I just want a tanktop-style chest piece that doesnt reveal the entire stomach like the one currently in the game. it shouldnt be too much to ask to have something like that, but apparently it is.
Yeah the 1st games upgrade system was better.. especially cause Dragonforging was harder and had more tiers. I remember it taking super long before I got everything to Gold Dragonforged.. Im sad they dumbed it down.. I hope they eventually expand on it and give us more tiers that cost all the way up to like 150 wyrmslife crystals... assuming they bring difficulty to warrant that upgrade.. My thought would be tier 1 is 15, tier 2 is 50, tier 3 is 150 for the upgrades.
The high level cap doesn't have much of an effect though. There is a hard cap on how high your stats can get from leveling in DD2. most stats have a cap of 350 for stat growth, with your final value being that, plus starting value, plus vocation adjustment. You'll generally get at or near that amount before hitting level 200 (the level cap back in DD1) A good armor set wil provid about the same amount of defense stat between all three items combined. a bad one can shave off a couple hundred points.
Would be better suited for skateboarding than combat.
That said, more options are usually better so having it pants, shirt, gloves, shoes would have been nice.
Why does the most nimble vocation in the game, put you in a bubble suit?
Or Japanese developers can learn to modernize. The morons are stuck in the 90s.
I couldn't care less about all the heavy plate crap that red vocations wear, and you couldn't pay me to go near most of the Archer crap with its random lopsided shoulder-plates and mismatched gauntlets.
I reckon Thief gets the best options, though Sorcerer, Magick Archer and Mystic Spearhand do moderately alright for themselves.
Still, I'm tempted to try recolouring some of the armour to make more equipment match up into sets.
