Am I the only one? All armor ugly?
So, We all know the beauty which was the 1st game. Chest, Pants, Boots and Gauntlets. Also the underwear but I dont really care about those slots personally.

then we come to this game, where they dumbed it down to Pants and Chest... I hate it.. After obtaining every, and i mean every, piece of gear in the game.. I say there are 0 good cosmetic options.

Any gauntlets I like I hate cuz the chest looks ugly, any chest that looks good is ruined by the Gauntlets. boots and pants are a lot better designed together and I like a few of them.
but there is exactly 1 set outside of heavy armor I think looks good, but its Archer exclusive.

Other than that, everyone just looks meh. Especially the Thief has no good cosmetics. And the best stat gear looks like you are from a greek pantheon for the Thief.. which is insane to me.

like, its baffling to me how there can be so many armor options... but at the same time no good options, cause everything just looks ugly save for Heavy armor and 1 set for Archer and a few other pieces here and there for casters. basically, to play the vocation I want and look good doing so, I have to use mods. which sucks, cause if the game woulda just did the same thing like in the 1st game, 5 instead of 3 armor slots, this wouldnt be an issue.

But thats just my 2 cents. Its not like they will change it, considering everything that would entail.. hopefully we get more actual options for armor in the future..

I never said there wasnt 1.. I said that Heavy Armor and 1 set for the Archer does look good. some others are *ok* but not 1 for the Thief, as example, looks good imo.

Nah, just one of the first hood you find for thief is pretty good look like a real assasin, and, and you can alway mix with non main head. Also something that everybody should do.

IT'S A ♥♥♥♥♥♥ RPG SO TREAT IT AS SUCH !

when you start think about what team you want to be, their look and personality is not that hard, you have to be creative, hell i play as a basic knight so i dont have very strong armor and weapon, but i have spend my time to find the best armor to make my pawn look like a sister of battle from 40k.

After one feature i'm not happy with the equipment is that the cape give nothing as they cant be upgraded, in the first game you was abble to complete stuff well in term of resistance whith the cape upgrade whithout having to sacrifice the look, damn the ammount of itme i have spend on upgrading my pawn stuff on the first game.

my issue is, my character has a sleeve tatt and a back tatt.. I want NO SLEEVES as an option on my armor to show the Sleeve Tatt in full, cant cuz gauntlets are tied to the Chest and especially for thief I dont like the one tanktop option cuz it shows the entire stomach part too which is not what Im going for with the style Im trying.

the ONLY 2 pieces of armor that let me show them are the Stargazer garb and the Brunhilda one.. I dont wanna look skimpy just so my character can have the tatts showing. I just want a tanktop-style chest piece that doesnt reveal the entire stomach like the one currently in the game. it shouldnt be too much to ask to have something like that, but apparently it is.

Yeah the 1st games upgrade system was better.. especially cause Dragonforging was harder and had more tiers. I remember it taking super long before I got everything to Gold Dragonforged.. Im sad they dumbed it down.. I hope they eventually expand on it and give us more tiers that cost all the way up to like 150 wyrmslife crystals... assuming they bring difficulty to warrant that upgrade.. My thought would be tier 1 is 15, tier 2 is 50, tier 3 is 150 for the upgrades.

You're not alone. I prefer slim and simple designs for armor. However, the game added useless long open sleeves to certain armor sets and goofy over-designed accessories to others. There are only about 3 armors that are decent and its just sad.

they should have added a full-blown armor editor, akin to character editor. since pawn sharing is clearly the game's usp, and there isn't much you can customize in terms of mechanics, armor editor would have been a great boost to that.

Function over form. Same as hiring pawns. I go for quest rewards regardless of appearance, level or vocation.

2nd: the level cap being as high as it is means you can also run around with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gear, a higher level will easily offset the couple of stat points you miss out on not using the across the board ugly endgame gear.

The high level cap doesn't have much of an effect though. There is a hard cap on how high your stats can get from leveling in DD2. most stats have a cap of 350 for stat growth, with your final value being that, plus starting value, plus vocation adjustment. You'll generally get at or near that amount before hitting level 200 (the level cap back in DD1) A good armor set wil provid about the same amount of defense stat between all three items combined. a bad one can shave off a couple hundred points.

Too many things sticking out of the armors, anyone wearing these would be an easy target on a battlefield.

Would be better suited for skateboarding than combat.

I've personally liked a lot of the armor. I did go like my first 30 hours with no helmet though until I got the seeker circlet because I usually don't like having a helmet on.

That said, more options are usually better so having it pants, shirt, gloves, shoes would have been nice.

I honestly hate some of the armor in this game. I look at my thief rn, and I see someone who was put in a bubble suit, filled with pillows, and slapped on a normal person, who now looks like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow man from the first Ghost Buster's Movie.

Why does the most nimble vocation in the game, put you in a bubble suit?

well you can't have everything, learn to play without overpowered maister skills or run around looking like ♥♥♥♥, your choice.

Or Japanese developers can learn to modernize. The morons are stuck in the 90s.

They DID modernize (aka simplify for those too lazy to pick 2 body and 2 leg slots). In DD1 you had a lot more options.

I don’t like most armor in this game. There are too many skimpy armors. It’s just not my taste but I have no problem to wear bad gear. Which I/my pawn mostly always doo. It would be nice if we would have more armors and some badass clothing which give some visible protection and not erection. (More armor types would be nice too, although I doubt, they bring this back)

I'm only bothered by the lack of obvious sets for the good stuff.

I couldn't care less about all the heavy plate crap that red vocations wear, and you couldn't pay me to go near most of the Archer crap with its random lopsided shoulder-plates and mismatched gauntlets.
I reckon Thief gets the best options, though Sorcerer, Magick Archer and Mystic Spearhand do moderately alright for themselves.

Still, I'm tempted to try recolouring some of the armour to make more equipment match up into sets.
