Can i still revive him and send him to work as brothel guard? No where did the mission say that it was timed, so he died.

Which makes me wonder, why only one of the timed quests (the first one) in the game had hourglass icon to tell you that it is timed, but none of the rest don't?

its not timed, did you tell him of his parents death? if so he killed himself and you are now locked out of it.

yeah dont tell him; get him out of jail he will say some such like i want a honest life etc. have him work at a apothecary or the chateau. the chateau being the best ending to the quest.

I don't remember if i told, it was a while since i visited his jail cell. One of the guards (was it jamie or something) interrupted me randomly at the battahl city and told me that they raided the ancient battlesite, but the boss escaped. And also that the prisoners escaped, but they were killed including hugo.

So, i was supposed to go to the ancient battlesite myself and find the boss, but completely forgot that i had that quest. So i quess it was actually timed.

if you kill lanzo he still offs himself.

I would assume he was supposed to be guard since one of the ladies in the brothel said that they desperately need a guard and i should look one for them.

its also a bugged quest, i couldn't get him out of jail by bribing the guard. the guard got stuck on "check back in a few days" over and over again.

After telling him about the parents, he will escape and go to ancient battlefield, he will go there to kill lanzo himself. I do not know how many days exactly but, if you kill lanzo, he will say something along the lines 'oh, you killed him. now i feel empty and dont know what to do'. you can now tell him to work at certain job locations you've unlocked.
if you tell him and put it off for too long, one of the guards in bakbattahl will tell you about hugo's revenge story. they both ded.

made this same mistake because i was doing multiple forgeries and skipping time. how unfortunate.

Yeah that is what happened to me too, so i guess it is indeed timed quest. Except i don't remember the guard telling me about revenge, only that the 2 prisoners (hugo and the other one) tried to escape and was killed during that. Although it is possible that i misunderstood something and he got killed in the field.
