Sword only fighter
Fighters should have the possibility to wear only a sword, that would grant them another weapon skill replacing the current parry, a strength bonus and some exclusives skills.

I love swords but I hate shields and if you just dont wear a shield as a fighter you are cucked.

yes, but warrior is too slow. I want a thief fighter hybrid class. maybe we will get one per dlc

I assume that was their intention when they cut out classes, add them with dlcs.

Dude you so totally can get a sword only fighter in two flavors.
Flavor 1 a Warrior with two hander,

Flavor 2, a fighter that some newb never equipped a shield too

I assume it too. the game is all about switching between the fun classes. it's smart holding some of them back for dlc.

I noticed at one point I did not have to have the shield equipped, but after a few sword swings and the idle stance, he still looks like he's holding the shield. So, I gave up on doing that.

Warrior is kinda ass though. I played it all the way through and then went thief. The amount of DMG and then the Maister skill the literally makes you not able to be hit at very, very little stamina completely makes warrior and fighter useless. Neither class is really that much more tanky when it matters and again THIEF HAS A GOD MODE FOR NO STAMINA AND CAN OUT DMG ANYTHING. I haven't even gotten the Spear Mage or whatever either. Warrior''s X was the best skill of them all frankly. Everything else was pretty lack luster outside of very well aimed and almost lucky shots with one or two of the skills. However the Sorcerers and Thief WELL outperform dmg and are nearly as tanky. It's literally ONE hit as warrior before you get staggered and you pull most the aggro. It says you can not be stunned while charging moves and that's 90% true, but after you release it you can be. So you can charge a move, release it, get hit before the slow move hits and still be stunned out. You become a literal meat shield for dragons and Headless Horseman while you pray your pawns aren't stupid and stay away from you and shoot the FUCIING METEOR. Fighter and Warrior are absolutely ass tier in EVERY way.

While its damage is no match for thief or sorc meteors, it is still insanely high. I find it very satisfying when long charging massive damage skill hits an enemy. The boom and slowdown feels so good. I never had issues with staggers after getting enough stagger resist from gears (and obviously getting levels to it for augments and passives). I don't think there was even a single enemy that could stagger or cancel my hits.

It is understandable though that not everyone enjoys slow attack speeds.

I could almost guarantee that they have plans to release more vocations in the future, like single or dual sword wielders. As someone said, its easier to sell dlcs if there are vocations with them.

I am with Laan. Warrior is nice, sure. But we want elegant swordmaster class NOW

This practice is lame tho... it's totally cut content. I'm glad I didnt bought the game at full price.

Yep, it is what it is. Only thing companies cares these days is money. Well some/most indie companies still cares about their customers, but its not the case with big ones.
