NG+ does not move up in difficulty. So if you want any kind of friction on learning all the new classes you have not played yet. Make your first time super hard by rushing mainstory and not getting all the best gear for every class from all the dungeons..
That way when you go up in NG+, you wont have overpowered gear and one shot everything when trying to learn lets say a warrior...
Also, there will be a certain NPC in NG+ that will sell boosts to "getting more exp leveling classes for a day".
So you are not supposed to already have max levelled everything.
Big mistake trying to do every dungeon and every quest during your first game. You will one shot everything for 50% of the game during your NG+ experience if you loot and level everything...
Oh and you won't be getting any additional portcrystals for quests and prior loot locations. This is really perplexing because a loading screen tooltip mentions that you can place 10 portcrystals, but I didn't find a way to legitmately exceed 6.
50 howr in da inquisition till day1
There's no real reason to play NG+. Why would you deliberately rush your first playthrough just to play the game a second time instead of just taking your time?
Don't heed that advice. There's no need to rush your first playthrough. People acting like this is console and mods don't exists. There's a decent selection of mods out already that make the game more difficult on Nexus
There's no need to gimp your playthrough or create self imposed challenges to make the game more challenging. I just cleared my game after 150 hours, heavily modded to boot, and I only crashed twice maybe. No game bugs, too. Everything was smooth sailing.
Why?
Because there is not enough content to play the game in only one run..
You will have 3-4 classes that wont be max level..........
And you wanna level this..
Problem is, since you already have done all the dungeons and sidequests and explored everything.. There is nothing for you to do in NG+... You will be in NG+ with all the best gear for the classes you have not played... Having to force yourself to downgrade and pick the worst gear... Because you will one shot anything you come across by grabbing the best 2 handed mace and trying to rank the warrior.
What makes the early game so good, is the friction of the game.. It let's you spend time on learning a class, for example fighter.. In and outs.. What skills to play, what not to play.. How to upgrade the weapons. What changes does it make.. How much did it change the gameplay..
You wont get that friction or experience being a rank 1 fighter, with all the best gear..
You wont have fun, learning to use the shield.. Cause everything around you is already dying by your pawn running around breathing on them..
Therefore, rush the game.. Do not do all the dungeons and pick up all the best loot for everything. You can do this in next game.. You can explore all side quests, while learning to play the trickster.. The magic archer.. Then you will reach max level for every class and find a bunch of new gear at the end of NG+ instead.
Giving you double the amount of game.
Therefore, first time you play this. Level 2 or 3 characters and rush the main quest.
The next time you play it, you will have a bunch of quests and loot to look forward too, and you will have a bunch of classes needing to be levelled up at the same rank and difficulty as the enemies you are facing through 50% of the game.
Only reason not to do this, is if you like wasting hours of your day and get some form of reward circuitry from your brain stem running around one hitting everything. My brain is not wired that way.. I don't think it's fun running around killing level 1 mobs, with a power level 100 graded weapon.. for 15 hours, before i can finally find any kind of challenge in the game.
You will eventually cap all stats by levelling, the vocation stat growth boost is just to get there faster.
