I'm talking about manually overwriting the steam save file outside the game
For me I checked the pawns is "Wait!" and never hit face once, can just damaging her till she's down.
I thought her face was the only part that couldn't be hit. I shot it at her front legs. It wasn't a "human" part so i thought it'd be fine
As for the sphinx, they were extremely obtuse and unclear. There were several murals and a guy saying "do it this way". And all you were really supposed to take from it is melee anything other than the head and chest.
When I attacked the sphinx, I was using my archer and I shot her in the body about seven or eight times before she finally recognized, so I didn't even have to melee, but in general, that is the intention, probably something like 100 melee damage at least in the back leg area to start the fight.
As for finishing the fight, either damage that probably isn't going to happen, or the unmaker.
But you are right, the tough part is starting the fight and roughly, even if you are the archer, jumping at her and doing the kick is probably what will start the fight for you. Just make sure you hit her in the butt, legs, or back. Not the face.
I would advise to anyone who's getting worried, to be aware, even with the DD2 Save Manager I need to exit the game entirely, not just go to the main menu, or the load of a previous save will fail. However, the mod is doing a similar thing, it just keeps all the autosaves instead of one..
