80$ of Epic Fail

• Performance is bad, both on PC and on Consoles. It's not the heart of the problem though.

• Only 4 vocation skills - impacting player expression and depth.

• 2/3 of the map is not even explorable. Yes, you heard that right, most of the map is not explorable. and is still (essentially) just a collection of big corridors;

• Very little enemy variety. Huge problem;

• Underwhelming quest design, and less quests than DD1;

• General jank and clunkiness is still present in gameplay;

• Overall, exploration feels unrewarding. Most of the rewards you get are just some materials/resources, making the process, including the desire to venture into the same looking caves to fight the same enemies, less exciting;

• Very underwhelming Endgame content...

• Dragonsplague mechanic.

• The story: Oh, boy, don't even get me started. For a "narrative driven" game - described officially on the store page - the story is atrocious. But even for a game not focused on the story, it's still bad.

These are just the things that come to mind immediately. Some of the problems described here are present in DD1 as well. And that's kind of the point: This is far from the "DD1 but completed" experience a lot of us were hoping. Ironically, aside from the beautiful graphics and overall bigger map, I'd say DD1 handles more elements of the game better than DD2, which is absolutely insane...

Listen mate. You can tell if a game is going to give you problems from the first 5 mins of gameplay. There is a very logical reasoning for this.

"YOU WANT YOUR GAME TO MAKE A STATEMENT AND A BANG TO KEEP PEOPLE PLAYING"

So.. if you can't get your tutorial area or beginning working correctly do you think you will get late game correct? By then the budget is running out and devs need to rush for release.

Even people who kept this excuse of a game and played it after 20 hours and more still have a negative review on the game due to performance. (Ignoring the negative reviews that have to do with microtransactions)

So that's why I refunded it. BUT I bought it on PS5 and it still runs badly. How do you explain this?

It's a single hardware setup? How do you get optimization wrong on a console?

Well.. This is because either devs had to rush a release due to capcom greed or have no experience developing this level of game.

I refunded it on steam but sad I can't do the same for PS5 version.

Your complaints were not all performance. Those could be valid for you, sure. But that's not the OP...

Edit... In fact, you aren't even the person I responded to. You aren't even trying to make sense. You can't know 90% of the complaints in the OP without playing the game for a lot longer than the refund time. Facts and whatnot...

First thing: If you enjoy the game it's fine I'm not bashing you for playing it.

Secondly:

Everyone has access to this information it isn't a well hidden secret or something.. Go see an overall score of this game, the reasons and you will find out.

It isn't just valid for me.. Apart from steam reviews have you seen Metacritic review of this game on PC? LOL So.. What's your point?

The game is a PC Port disaster end of story. No question about it. On PS5 is playable for sure but has stutters in high dense NPC areas.

I played a lot of DDDA on xbox 360 and this game is not what I thought a sequel would have been they gutted too much and innovated on too little

I agree with all that the OP had to say. This game definitely needed some more fine tuning before it hit the stores.
One of my biggest complaints is the atrocious voice acting. Everyone sounds like they are auditioning to be a peanut vendor at the Ren-Fair. To be fair it is not the fault of the voice actors, but rather whoever wrote this dreck (Oh look, a ladder. Perhaps we could make good use of it).
I will continue to play this game, hoping that some update or DLC will take care of the more obvious problems, but I'm not really counting on it. To charge $70 for this unfinished turd of a game is ridiculous.

a silly video game that people have waited over a decade for and paid 70+ dollars for yeah some people are gonna be upset when they are past the refund window and are stuck with a product that is subpar to the last in some ways. although the presentation is great (when it performs well) but all the pixels in the world does not make this the sequel we logically thought we were gonna get.

Pac-Man had a better story, so did Donkey Kong. Heck, even Asteroids and Pong had better storylines. You see gaming started with point scoring, story did not matter at all, until people started expecting it. It is classic privilege.
