Endgame content compared to DDDA?
Hey,

I just finished DDDA (including BBI and post-BBI) and I have to say Everfall and BBI gave the game really strong endgame content. Since I really enjoyed it I was thinking of getting DD2.

I know DDDA is a re-release of DD which happened a few years later compared to the vanilla, but I still want to ask whether this game has a decent endgame content compared to that game or not.

What you can do after finishing the story besides NG+?

If you're looking for a good post game like DDDA, look elsewhere, or wait for this game to be finished/get dlc.

this game doesn't have an "endgame"
there's a start and a middle that's it, suddenly the credits start rolling

Huh? Unmoored world is the pretty much the endgame.

That said compared to DDDA it has less. As said there's Unmoored world but once you're done with that there's not much else.

I think the end game of 2 is better than end game for the base Dragon's Dogma but probably not as good as BBI which technically was an expansion. But that said I believe there are plans for DLC to be released somewhere along the lines for this game, though what shape it takes we don't know.

Won't go too much into spoilers but when you get to the end game boss fight there is a certain thing that you can do which will change the state of the world and give you end game content to do where you can farm rare resources to buy end game gear and walk around previously inaccessible areas for chests containing some end game gear.

DD2 got nothing like everfall or bbi, wait for DLC.

There is end game. Its Unmoored World. It changes whole map and fills it with stronger enemies and lets you hunt for the best gear. The problem is that is timegated and when you die you start over like in roguelite games. Capcom now is reconsidering timegating. You can use wakestones and stuff and destroy red beacons to stop map deterioration but you are stuck with only 12 rests. You can bypass resting to recover loss hp gauge with items so you can farm without problems. Still timegating endgame is a bad design choice in it self.

Nothing like that, after you're done and picked an ending, there's only NG+ to try a new ending or complete what you left behind. That said, there's a lot of chances their DLC will be a bbi like dungeon or something like that.

The Unmoored World is DD2's equivalent of the Everfall. Bitterblack Island was an expansion which was sold despite the first game underperforming so it stands to reason that this one will receive an expansion since it sold significantly better than the first.

The endgame of DD2 is completely missable content if you don't know how to trigger it. Unlike the first game, you don't get automatically tossed into it. I missed it because I sat on the throne when the credits started to roll.

Also, the endgame content of this game is timegated. You have a set amount of time to complete everything before the game is over. Also, if you die in the endgame content, you are forced to restart from the beginning of the game (you get thrown into NG+).

You get a special ending if you die there but once that cutscene is over you should get the game over screen asking if you want to start from day 1 of the unmoored world or at day 3. That is at least what happened to me when I died there.
