Can you ask for a Portcrystal as a Pawn Request?

You could. Question is would someone else be willing to complete such a quest for your pawn as they are quite valuable for convenience.

You can. You can only place 10, which is more than enough, and some people are in NG+ and beyond who will have no use for extra Portcrystals.

I found out that if you play completely offline, the computer will hire your pawn and complete requests. I asked for 9 Ferrystones for 10k gold and the computer gave it to me after a couple of hours.

if you do a 1.5 hour speedrun to get to the postgame you only use 1 portcrystal, 3 if you want to do the post game stuff.

max efficiency route is get to vern > do monster quest > do brant quests except magistrate > coronation > run to battahl > put portcrystal down before you cross bridge > put portcrystal down in battahl > do battahl > do seafloor > teleport back to battahl > do gigantus > put portcrystal down > do tower.

then you'll have a port ready for statue.... ready for battahl... and ready for as close as elf as you can get.

rinse n repeat to farm crystals, if you full clear you get 250-300 a run and it takes 3 hours tops.

Wait, why is Magistrate specifically called out? Does it lock you out of anything? Because I literally just did that one.

You can, but don't expect nothing in return. I've tried to ask for those golden beetles and just waited a few days. 20 hires latter, no one actually gave one, so I think the chances for a portcrystals are even less likely.
