A Case of Sculptor's Block

looking for anyone who has been this far to advise. Spoilers below


Is there anything in game that points you to finding Medusa or do you just have to run across her cave, or Google it to find her? it seems like when you get the sculptor's quest you'll miss out on the best reward if you know nothing of Medusa or where to look. As far as I can tell there is nothin that steers you in that direction. Did I miss something?

there are a lot of stone statues near the area of the cave she's in, your pawn's will comment on it as well. that's about the only hint i recall the game gave me.

Start exploring in a southwesterly direction. You will eventually come across obvious clues when you get close.

When I did the quest he led me to a griffin not a medusa. Find a pawn with quest knowledge they can lead you there fast!

I remember when crossing the border overhearing a NPC I passed by mentioning that the Medusa had escaped to the south. But other then the statues outside of the cave nothing in particular sends you there unless ya search for it.

I think the cave with that enemy is further south desert area. Working on getting to that region of catland now.

Do pinpoint slicing damage to her neck to get a preserved head that can fire all the lazers to keep the griffin still.

forger pawns can point out granite medusa bones on the map if you have any upgrade paths that need them. other than that no.

There's a letter at the checkpoint mentioning it escaped into the mountains. People also gossip about it occasionally.

The OP is referring to the sculptor stating that using a Medusa head to petrify the griffin will result in him sculpting a superior statue. If you don't petrify the griffin he is dissatisfied with the statue. If you do he is satisfied.

btw you don't need a medusa. Equip a fire weapon or get a fire enchant and keep putting the griffin on fire to incapacitate it. Keep pawns at "wait" so they don't fight. Keep the bullying going on as long as possible. After like 3 or 4 incapacitations the griffin flew away and the sculptor told me he did the sketch. At the reveal the statue was "perfect" - happy ending.

There was a medusa on the cliff side back way into Battahl after the Golem cave towards Battahl. I just noped when I saw it the first time and haven't been back there yet. It's in a side cave somewhere between the Golem and the rocky beach.

Delayed response, but magick archer can put the griffin to sleep as well and get the "perfect" reward.
