Griffin Aggro, how do I get it?
I can't seem to get these magnificent beasts flying overhead to come and fight. If they, do they leave right away.

Any pointers?

North of Vernworth near Great Bridge Passage Griffin attacks ox regularly and divebombs to ground.
Entrance to Bakbattalh Griffin attacks regularly and divebombs to ground.

Griffin Nests: Northern Battalh north east of Reverent Shrine (sculptor quest takes you there). Southern edge of misty Marches there is another nest.

This one finally stayed around long enough to get killed.
It trivializes the fight to set their wings aflame, they can't fly away then, just keep burning the wings tho as the moment they get extinguished, it will try to go away.

Was surprised too, Gryph was flying literally off-screen and went straight dive into me after using the taunt.

Best one I found is to take the sky line cart across at all and you'll get dive bombed and fall to most likely your death.

Be sure to farm wakestone before that method haha.
I genuinely didn't even know they bomb that, I took the lift across battahl across entire map so many times and never got bombed that I thought it's actually safe, apart from having to deal with harpies. (if that's what you mean by the sky line)

Tbf griffins seem to hate me as in the entire time I play the game (about 60 hours) I got dive bombed twice, one of which the griffin landed in the sea so it was a rather short encounter.
lucky you. I always get bombed if I don't take out the griffin first on that thing. Luckily that one takes a couple of days to respawn i think.

I mean to be fair once you're like... level 30 or so, majority of vocations kill it in like a minute, I so far maxed out sorcerer, archer & closing in on maxing mystic, sorcerer oneshots it with the flare, archer bullies it with deathly arrows to the head and torrent of flame arrows to the wings & mystic just mounts it and destroys it immediately, the griffin has like no resistance to anything and no poise so it always lies on the ground for majority of the fight.

Wait, they don't attack you? I normally just stand minding my own business and get dived bombed. I have so many great griffin feathers that I can open a Bed bath and Beyond shop now.

Honestly, just stand out on the broken stone bridge of Battal, it'll dive bomb you or stand by a bunch of oxen just outside of vernsworth. You could also just clown around in their nests too. They don't like that.

I'll give it a go. I was hoping for less hunting, and more just fighting them when I see them.

I generally go to their nests, other than that, not to worry, whenever there's worst possible time for them to attack you, they'll choose to. For instance when I was moving along a rather narrow ledge above sea between Batahl & Vermund, there were a few eagles attacking me... and then the big boi decided to join in, very funny "fk u" moment. Tbf he drowned himself when he missed dive so I guess fair's fair.

Was fighting a Golem and a Chimera, and a Gryphon joined the fray. After the Golem and Chimera were dealt with, he flew away. Didn't catch him aflame in time. But I found him later eating Oxen.

probably finding a nest so they wont want to run away when they get low on health
Funny that... I had a griffin run away from me in its own nest... Yeah, I was confused too.

Same thing, in the Marsh. He flew away from his own nest. :)

Tried this, and still no joy.

Seems hanging out with/or near Oxen works.

Golem and Chimera do be a fun combo I can imagine, I personally hate golems because they tend to take a while as I am still quite bad at baiting them into positions to expose their weak points, especially the one on left foot, Chimera tbf is a pretty easy boss in general. Personally if I was aiming to get the griffin done with in this instance, I'd probably just quickly finish the chimera and ignore the golem.

I personally tried hanging out near oxen but it didn't do a thing for me, only reason I ever saw one land there was it already intended to land nearby (I know for a fact one of the vermund one's landing spots is in the fields in front of capital) so that had nothing to do with me baiting it. What works for me the best is just tracking down where its nest is based off where he flies from, since he always flies a lap around the map & ends it in the nest. Admittedly the forest one's nest is a pain in the ass to find compared to the battahl one where an NPC literally guides you to it with a quest.

PSA: You can pull the golem's leg out when it's stunned, or when it's not. :)

Also, playing trickster and using the censer pulled the flappy birds down in a hurry. I used a Gryphon to help me kill a Drake earlier. Was kinda fun.

I noticed just looking at big enemies makes them attack you, if you don't look at them with camera you can run past and they will ignore you.

They hunt very early, camp near an oxen field for a couple of days and see if any griffins decide to land around you, they seem like their primary target.

I had one try... Drake boi however told him to F off with a hot flamey shower which sent it straight into lake so its intervention was rather... short.
